Polaris testing in Wyoming

So this past week I was riding up in horse creek an ran into these guys in the parking lot, didn't talk to them or really check out there sleds but truck did have Minnesota plates and the sleds had full blown computers mounted in the handle bars. Pictures arnt the best but all I could get off the gopro... Also earlier that morning we saw them in the local dealership wanting engine parts and something was said like "o yea the cylinders are different so it won't wok" ? So if anyone knows what they test using these computer chime in who knows new engine or maybe just nox an environmental testing..

I know they had 2 semis at togwotee over new years. We got there and went to the front desk to ask where to park, their response was "are you guys with polaris?" Our response was "no". The guy then said "nevermind, you didn't hear that." Sure enough, later that morning the 2 semis came pulling in. They unloaded one right in front of everybody. That one was full of '13's. The other one went way to the back and as soon as the sleds were out of the trailer they were gone. Makes a guy wonder.

as for togwotee: 2014 photo shoots

as for this small truck, who knows what they are up to....hopefully testing a new driveshaft/drive system

its no secret:

Polaris and Togwotee have rekindled their relationship last year. I have been going out there for a number of years. Back in the day Polaris used to do some testing and photo shooting at Togwotee. Somehow the relationship went sour and Polaris went elsewhere.

Last year the love was rekindled and Polaris was there over new years, as was I. This year it seems the relationship is still going strong.

Anywho, Polaris took the whole back parking lot and all of the sleds had black mesh skins over the whole sled. You could see body lines but no graphics or details. They did this to avoid people snapping pics while driving in and out for testing and photo shoots.

When I was out riding I did sneak up on them grabbing some photo shoots of the 13', pretty cool.

I was told by some peeps around there that if they caught pictures of the machines on the internet forums, bad news happens to that person who posted.

I think arctic cat still does their testing out there too, maybe that is what the big riff was about back in the day. The two bothers couldn't get along at the playground.

I think Polaris should save some money and come ride with me in the UP and get real world conditions these sleds see. You know where the trees you ride around are used for guidance and traction. Oh and those stumps that get used for jumping, lol. Heck Id even let them stay in my one room cabin in back in the woods with no electricity, free beer though.

I sure hope that's the new IQR or a trail sled cause I really love the new boards and would hate to have to do mods on future models with those planks :face-icon-small-win

Also these where taken on Monday the day before (Sunday) the same guys towed a sled back to the parking lot, the only spot I saw them was first few miles on the trail by the parking lot, I sure hope they had something good under those side panels and trying to hide the new and improved, and I'm not sure what the real world riding is posted above? Wyoming does have real mtn riding and there is a reason they come out here to test there stuff, just glad to see they were out and about testing, no arctic cat trucks to be seen lol also the gauges/iPads had tons of wiring and hoses hooked to them really thought the pictures would of turned out better

We were at tog a couple weeks ago and the whole lower parking lot was roped off and there was tents set up and a 250 gal propane tank, hoses and wires... No sign of anything Polaris but Dan Adams Keith Curtis and a bunch of people who acted like they were important were hangin in the fox. Also saw some rentals running around with big boxes on the tunnel I assumed were for camera gear.

You don't see Cat because they have a facility in Island Park, Idaho.

We were there at the same time.

Wyoming is sweet, just jealous because I can only afford to go out there once a year.

what I meant by real world:
-trying to carve on ice because the areas are so beat down from traffic
-whooped out trails because everyone and their brother is riding the same main vein up from twin lakes to houghton.
-when we say "playing in the trees". It literally means your hitting the trees, not just the branches

lol, can't wait to be out at togwotee in March.

Hey, you out westers should book a trip to the flat land, lol. See how we feel.

Ya think they are trying to make it look as inconspicuous as possible with that touring windshield??:face-icon-small-ton

Does that look like a 144 pro? Like a 155 cut down? Looks tall by the flap on the tunnel. Also anything needed for that kind computer monitoring would be engine, which could mean a di motor. I'm thinking a di 600 2014 and a di 800 for 2015

On furthe review I think this is a switchback assault.

The tunnel lacks all the lightweight features of the PRO chassis, an as stated has the "other" boards

Yea it's no pro rmk it has different running boards no mtn deep lug track, it was a trail sled for sure not to familiar with the Polaris trail sled but looking at the website it looks just like a switchback(seat running boards track) I was more into all the computer mounted and fact they where in the dealer looking for motor parts but they didn't have them because the cylinders where different. Change is coming, also buddy of mine order a crazy mtn x full drive system for his 13 and the owner kept hinting towards the new 14's maybe they took advice from him on how to make a belt drive system

Seems odd

Polaris people went to the local dealer looking for motor parts for a motor that has not yet been released?

I talked to two guys in a bar. We had a converstaion that they may not remember and im surprised i did. Small town bar but not actually in a town. AFter friendly banter i asked what brought them to the area they claimed testing new polaris sleds. Not sure i believe thembut i went along and pried for information.....said they had two 2014 sba's that featured a belt drive in a trail ratio. True? not a clue, im leaning towards a massive bull**** story.....but we will know in a few months
