Polaris Stepped Up!

Two weeks ago we were riding Togwotee, had 4 800 class RMK's. 1 - 08 800 Dragon, 2 - 09 800 Dragons and 1 - 09 Assault.

Two of the four went down with regulator and ecu's. One 09 Dragon and the 08 Dragon, 09 is under warranty, 08 is not. Well today I got a call from our dealer who rock's. He asked Polaris to Cover the 08 and they agreed to cover all but $50 of the Parts and Labor.
Long story short, they seem to know they have problems and I only have to pay $100.

So...your happy with them for selling you a sled with faulty parts and then...."only" charging you to $100 to fix it.:face-icon-small-con:face-icon-small-dis

They have some good marketing people :face-icon-small-sho

I understand that but they are charging the customer a 50 dollar deductable for a known design flaw. They still have no way to fix it and it WILL happen again. They replaced a faulty reg and ECU with another faulty one.....get my point.:face-icon-small-coo

Is the cup half empty?

I am saying I am happy they picked up $600 of the fix. They very well could have walked away saying the warranty is up and I'm SOL.

Get my Point!
Cups nearly full!

all polaris sleds are garbage, helps bring down the price for used ones. I love mine with no problems. maybe I'm to hard on it and it likes it

In our group we have one and the failure rate is 200 percent, are you implying that there is not a problem? Maybe skibreezes was built on a Friday............

Polaris dealers and manufacturers are worthless

Nice work, but believe me, Polaris did not do you any favors. You paid $50 to have Polaris fix their f-up. I had my top end done also, new pistons and rings, whatever was in the 2010 update for the 08 and 09 dragons, they charged me for the oil and a filter...so apparenly since Polaris can't make sleds correctly, they will pick up 90% of the cost, and stick me with the rest....IDIOTS!!

I had my 2010 update done at the same time, No charge what so ever. May be the the difference in dealers. Who knows!

Again it may be their fault in the long run, but they very well could have left me hanging with a large bill being that it is out of warranty.

2 different dealers and my sled is still unrideable, I got 2 days on it so far this year. What happens when it fails next year or the year after or the year after?

You roll it down a mountain and get something else. I found a 09 800 in FTC for 5200 and just cant bring myself to buy it.

I have over 500 miles on my sled since december and nothing wrong with it. it walks all over m8s all day, have 3 09 d8s that haven't missed a beat yet so maybe its how you are riding. these sleds aren't meant to be putted around. they are having the problems when people ride them at constant low rpms. thats my .02

My 09 drag 163 runs just fine also...I was just po'd because Polaris doesn't step up to the plate and pick up ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE UPDATE. Riding style isn't the issue, you don't buy a dragon to go cruising along the trails...especially in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, where I typically ride

Thats got to be it :crazy:So Skibreeze must ride like a sissy and it has nothing to do with faulty polaris parts :boink:

This statement right here is complete and utter BS.

Your also saying you have had your sled 2 months and ridden 500 miles and that is you "standard" of reliabality. I'm betting we see another post from you in the future with a different tone.

My 600 has 3300 trouble free miles what percentage of 800's out there can say that :lips:

It looks like out of 91 owners 15% have lasted over 3k miles. 51% have lasted less than a thousand. :face-icon-small-sho Maybe they all ride like sissy's :cheer2: Odds are you time is coming. :present:

I have 2000 miles on my 08 D8 and on the third motor ,original motor died at 1000 miles piston melt down and took out the crank (complete rebuild) Then the 09 update at 1500 miles, at 1800 miles broken crank. Polaris did put a complete 2010 long block in with that $50 deductable which why do I have to pay for their crap.I ride it like i stole it.Its been a POS . Its not because constant low rpm. and even if it was, thats crap it should run at all rpms

On the other hand, if it were me...They would have had two dead sleds on their doorstep and a lawsuit to recover all purchase costs.

It is a tradgedy what 800 buyers are having to live with. Being happy about getting a screwing baffles me.
