Polaris Skid in Nytro Xtx

I am looking into mounting a pro rmk 155 skid in my nytro xtx turbo. I will be running a 162" CE track with 7 tooth driver. I will be making a custom tunnel extension with new rear mounts and custom running boards. I am aware I also have to move my front mounting holes as well. I have only heard of a few who have attempted this and was looking for some input from others.
 
Looking for some help on clutching and gearing running a 162 ce track on a push turbo nytro xtx. I have stock gearing and 45* helix. Will be goin w 7 tooth drivers.
 
That skid would not be one of my first seven choices for a Viper or a Nytro.

Guys, he said it is going in a Nytro XTX with Push turbo. What are others experiences with this Polaris skid in a Nytro?

I read I think on TY that the polaris skid will bolt right in using the stock front location and the stock mtx mounting holes so for the xtx you would need new rear mounting plates. I think the 162 track fits perfect when using the 155 skid with the stock mounting on the Yamaha. I'm sure if you google you could find the thread.
 
I have the assault 155" skid with 162" track on my build, using the mtx front mounting hole and earlier used the stock dropbrackets from the mtx.
On my sled the adjuster was ok but some people had to use 9" rear wheels.
i only have about 180km on it and no deep snow riding but it seemed to work pretty well and its a fair bit lighter than any Yamaha skid.
this year i put reinforcements on the rails since they are pretty weak where the front arm attaches to the rail.

do the xtx share the same front mounting holes as the mtx ?
 
What you are talking about doing is basically the same as a pullback. We used to do it years ago to improve the crappy approach angle of the Yami skid. The trade off is it makes the heavy front end ride even heavier. What you need to compare is where the front arm bolts in in relation to the driveshaft on a Poo, chances are its closer than it will be on your Nytro. Personally I wouldn't do it again having done it before. If it were me I'd run a 162 skid with a 162 track, the other potential drawback is it makes spearing your track much easier.

M5 is right...If you go back with the front mount hole, you should also go down to help take the load off the skis. You don't want the front to feel heavier than stock on a yammi.
 
The xtx has different front mounting hole than the mtx but the holes are already in the tunnel just not drilled through the tunnel braces. So i will be able to use the mtx holes.
 
Basically you need to make sure the rail tips are positioned as close to the drivers as they are on the Polaris, if you don't the sled will be front heavy. If the MTX holes put the skid in the same place as on the Polaris then great but I doubt that's going to be the case given the different track length. It actually all depends on the front arm length of the Polaris skid compared to the Yami one. Cat skids are the easiest swap. How about the width isn't the Poo skid narrower?

Ok, I have looked into doing a Cat skid swap but read they are a pain to get the geometry right. And yes the pro skid is a little narrower but im making custom tunnel sides so i w be able to space it in bout a 1/2".
 
Well I solved all my issues with this and just bought a KMOD! All problems solved! :face-icon-small-hap The pro skid would fit and would clear the drivers fine but the skid would not be able to take the abuse of a turbo nytro.
