SKI-DOO ROCKS AND POLARIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now there's exactly the "intelligent" response I bet you were looking for. No way you will buy a Polaris now.;)
I've been sorta tossing around the same decision. I've ridden my Buddy's RMK 600 and loved it. My other Buddy's ski-doo 800 is nice too but doesn't handle as well. Could be the way it's set up. Personally I'm leaning towards the Polaris but they are hard to come by at a decent price here in BC.

Yeti,

Are you looking at 2009 Polaris and Ski-Doo models? There is a big difference in the chassis of those sleds. The power is (HP) is similar, and both can be setup to respond even better.

I ride the IQ chassis and love the nimble response it provides side hilling and carving in the snow. I've ridden my buddies XP and it is a great sled as well. Better sled for pure hill climbing (not as nimble and tippy). He did have to put Fox Floats on the front to get it to carve the way he likes. The carburation can suck on the Ski-Doo (when you tip over, sometimes cold starting, etc.). The Polaris is fuel injected and that is nice because you don't have to make any changes for altitude (but you need to have re-map when you do serious mods). The XP is lighter and narrower in the front, with a wider track (16" vs. 15"). The Polaris is a little heavier (50 lbs or so), but holds up better because of it. I hit a huge rock this year that I know would have torn up the Ski-Doo bulk head. It's catch 22, lightness versus sturdeness.

The best thing you can do is ride both and make the determination on which one "feels" better to you. Also really depends on the riding you do.

actually i own D8 2008 with BD

I LOVE IT

actually i am thinking to buy 700 RMK.

Most of my people use summit, but i hate ski-doo.

hard to ride, looks ugly and engine is ****.

Our family owns 4 Summits and love them. The kids ride a 97 670, 2000 700, the wife has a 2004 800 and I have a 2005 1000. I have had an SKS 500 and an XLT. Ski-Doo has always been better. From oil consumption to the power to do what you want.

Yeah but you are comparing old Polaris's to an 04 800 and 05 RT1000. I have owned both brands, various years and models. Both sleds are a great improvement over older models including the 04 800 and 05 RT1000. Its gonna end up boilling down to personal preference, I run Polaris's now and will more than likely stay that way. The CFI is a plus over the carbs, which I think Ski-Doo is behind the times when it comes to fuel systems, but they will change on the 800's one of these days. But basically they are both good sleds and all have positives and negatives about them.
