Polaris IQ and Pro chassis questions.

I see the Pro chassis started in 2010, but do the newer (2010 to current) regular RMK's have the pro or the IQ chassis?

And how does the IQ chassis compare to the Pro? I have ridden the Edge for years and it is time to upgrade.

The PRO Chassis was released in 2011. All 2010 models will be IQ.

2011 800s are PRO CHASSIS. The Difference between the PRO and the RMK is shocks, handlebars and the RMK has a cooler in the front of the tunnel.

2011 600 and everything else is still in the IQ chassis.

There isn't anything wrong with an IQ sled. Although if you ride the IQ and the PRO on the same day you will understand why it would be worth the extra money to get the 2011 or newer over a 2010 IQ.

The Pro-ride chassis started in 2010 with the Rush short track sleds. 2010 RMKs are still in the IQ Raw chassis. 2011+ are the RMKs in the Pro-ride chassis.

Edge to IQ is a huge step. It is much more comfortable and less tiring to ride. IQ to Pro is another step forward, maybe not as huge as coming from an Edge to the IQ but still quite significant. The IQ feels fat and lazy compared to the Pro. With the decreased panel width and weight loss, the Pro feels alot better and more capable compared to the IQ... my .02

my iq is a heavy trenching whore compared to a pro. Sure in a foot or two of freash on a tracked meadow you can do fine but bottomless tree snow its a stuck pig, pros just need a shake and a ski pull and out.

I would almost agree with this. I can ride my IQ all day long and be quite happy BUT it feels like riding a fat lady compared to my Pro! I don't think it is a stuck pig in bottomless tree snow but it ain't no Pro that's for sure!

On the Pro alot of times you can shake it side to side to get a little clearance under the running boards and get the track back down on snow then just hit th gas and take off. It really is pretty amazing how hard it is to get the Pro stuck and how easy it is to get out.

The 600 didn't come in the Pro chassis until 2012.

The Edge chassis, IMO, is the hardest chassis Poo made recently to get to roll up and sidehill with. Even the Gen II's are easier to manuever.

2010 MOUNTAIN sleds were all in the IQ chassis, while the RUSH was in the short-track form of the PRO chassis. 2011 introduced all sleds but 600's in the PRO chassis(2011 600's were still IQ's).

If you want to get stuck all day, buy an IQ. They're fantastic handling sleds, but nothing compares to shredding in the 3 feet of fresh with a pro that just doesn't stop.

Also, I agree with cateye5312, the edge chassis sleds were more difficult to pull over than the GEN 2's because of the way the suspension was set-up.

Overall, if you wanna have a smile on your face all day, buy a pro. you can get one cheap (5500 on ksl for '11 800 PRO) and you'll never run wrong.

Turbolover sums it up well. The Rush did come out in 2010 but most people in the mountains don't count it because it was a short track and it was a 600. My D7 and D8 were great sleds. I never lost a motor and they ripped! But they needed a lot more work out of the box than the Pro. The IQ feels like a heavy pregnant version of the Pro. If you want a good deal on a Pro I have a 2011 for sale for a great deal. Just PM me!
