:tape2: when a good company gets purchases they don't usually keep the high quality they're known for.

nope. a big corp like Polaris wants to have the biggest profit margin as possible. there for quality will suffer.

Good thing i went motofist this year... Would hate to have a seam come unglued or blown zipper within a couple rides.... :face-icon-small-con

And when Motorfist gets acquired by another company or investor shareholder then what?? This is entrepreneurship and capitalism at its finest. I actually think its a great move for Klim.
I also hope it doesn't affect warranty and experience I've had thus far, but can't fault them for doing what they felt best for the business and their own well being.

Polaris would be stupid if they changed anything with Klim. I bet nothing changes and Klim continues to make great products and stands behind them. Polaris will just make money off Klim now

I hope you are right, but that usually doesn't happen. Big companies have big egos and they think their ideas are best (they are big afterall). Thus acquired companies usually get changed after awhile to be more like the big brother company. Klim will likely be gone as we know it, though it will take a few years. Too bad. They were a great company.

This should be exciting for everyone who likes Klim. A big corporation financially backing Klim to grow which means more selection and maybe new products in the next few years.

My thing ís, i always thought that someone that wore Nike shoes with Adidas apparel looked goofie ... I think polaris has good looking apparel, but riding a cat, its not for me... I love klim, but with the polaris logo on it, not for me unless i go polaris... There alone, i think they will lose customers even with more selection. Don't know, but if the other companies are the reason they was struggling witch made them sell out, i don't think this move would help klim itself, but more so polaris... Jmo.. :nerd:

So when you bought your house, you left it alone? That kind of investment, they'll put their stamp on it.. We all do. Just as we do on our sleds.. We add and even remove a sticker to make it different cause we own it. Yeah, they might leave it alone for the first year as we do, but slowly change start to come about... Anyways, motofist for me for now... :face-icon-small-coo

to me its exactly like what Vivint(which is out of Provo, UT) did this year. A company called blackstone purchased them for $2billion. Reason vivint did this is so that they can grow. Thats exactly what Klim is doing they're getting the financial backing to grow. Unless Polaris is stupid and starts branding everything with Polaris on it Klim will continue to grow which means more money for the owners at Klim and the head guys at Polaris. Its all about making money and thats what Klim thinks is best for them having a big corporation help fund their future products.

You better get a PRO! :face-icon-small-hap

Polaris is not touching the Klim brand. Directly from Klim management "they own us, but are leaving us alone, we can still ride our cats and doos." Klim will still have its own corporate structure and budget.

In short, selling to polaris allows klim to have even deeper pockets for R&D and expansion of clothing lines (think same great quality in flashy designs colors) Polaris will still produce there own clothing, but you will see a gradual transition over the next few years to higher quality polaris clothing. The klim brand will not be diminished, but will continue to produce the highest quality snowmobile clothing around.

Polaris has gone on a spending spree lately buying up clothing companies, electric vehicle companies, golf cart companies, etc.. this is nothing new for them.
