Polaris Axys on the Dyno - Build up

Seems Skidonky had a 600cc Sled that they called a 500SS .. And a 809 you called a 800 ..?.?. ya go figure

OH SOO SOURRIE DARE EH???

Keep trolling SKIDORKY !!

There is something to be said of what he is saying. You won't get 10-15 on a single and I wouldn't care if they claimed 20 on twins.
Different kind of fun. I turboed my 850 doo and it has the best bottom end response i ever had for a turbo but it lost some of the stock, quick brap. That is what I really liked about the 850. A split second later it has way more. Just two different responses.

I am a polaris guy all the way but I ride with 4 skidoo sleds, 2 800 t3 174, 850 with 165, and 850 with 175. That 175 is a total beast on the hill. Another coworker, fellow axys rider, rode the new 850 pro with a 174 and said it would not climb with the 175 skidoos they were with. Now I know there are a ton of variables but dont immediately think it will beat the 175 skidoo. Both are amazing sleds

A clutched doo 850 is only barely on par with a stage 2 axys 800.

If the 840 has ANY more oomph than the axys 800 it will wax the doo 850...........

Your comparison wasn’t same sled same day ??*♂️

I'm in the camp where I wouldn't have snowchecked an 850 (840 for you Doo-riders) if I could have, but it's looking more compelling as time goes by. 170 just out of break-in is a nice figure. The acid test is still how they hold up this season, but I wonder if the shorter stroke could be the difference-maker. There is a Doo that seems to have a class-leading engine to my mind – one that I'd take a serious look at if I had cash in hand – but that'd be the 600R...

Your dreaming right? A turbo 800 axys still beats it by 40-70hp depending on elevation. That 180hp at 10,000ft is 130hp. PG turbo can maintain close to 200hp at 10k. Not even close. As far as the other changes on the new 850 such as the front end, that is easily changeable on the 800.

I said it would be more "fun" to ride, not that it would have more power. I have ridden several turbo sleds with 250+ HP and they are very nice, but turbo lag is a real factor no matter what anyone says. For the type of riding i like doing (backcountry, trees, deep powder), a stock sled with 180-185 HP is far more FUN to ride. . . just my opinion.

why does the engine zip through the 130 hp area before breakin and then it kinda bogs or fades around 130hp after breakin.

if it doesn't chug oil and require a wobbly clutch, id say ya got the doo 850 beat here. 10cc don't mean poop tho. or 40. the cat will still get them both:face-icon-small-coo

I didn't say trouble free....
It was towed one time in its life.
overall it has been a good sled for him.

Funny thread. How about comparing stock to stock, not "stage2 against??". Love how last three years EVERY Axys I ride with has added SLP pipe and clutching. Yet want to compare against a stock 850 Doo? Or how about comparing the riders? Or comparing recalls? Or who really gives a sheet. We have 3 Doos, 3 Cats, and a Poo. No loyalty here. Just wanna have fun.

that "quick detaching clutch" ruined 3 different powder days of mine and it wasn't even my sled
had to tow out with my Dragon talk about a nail biter !
haven't kept the throttle moving so much in my life
please don't seize pleeeaaasee :hail:

awe memories
