Finally had the time to go and test this set up. It works so good.

I bought the Kurt’s “gear down kit”. It’s definitely a gear up from the stock gearing.I think you might be comparing apples and oranges on the new gearing. For stock, i think the ratio referenced didn't include the drivers in the calculation, whereas Kurts included the drivers in the final calculation. I think you might have actually geared up. I am curious as to the tooth count of the Kurts kit you installed. My notes say stock QD2 gearing is a 22 tooth upper and 50 tooth lower, which is a ratio of 2.273, not counting the drivers. Kurts makes a few different kits, but I think the one you installed had a 32 tooth upper and a 67 tooth lower which would be a ratio of 2.094 not counting the drivers Anyway you could count the teeth to confirm?
Don't believe me check out Burandts youtube video "STORM 900 BOOSTER | The Walkaround" at 1 min 45 second mark he talks about how Kurts is now a gear up kit compared to QD2.

The Khaos has the Tied, the Pro has the Tss04.Did both sleds have the Tied clutch. To do a fair comparison, you need to have a hill with zero tracks on it. So you sent the Cat down the road? Thanks !
Do they have different gear down kits? Mine is a 32/67 or 2.09 which is a gear upDo you really think i dont know what I am installing....
This is a 29/69 gear ratio. 2.38, its a gear down. The drivers are irrelevant as they are both the same, no need to adjust for a different size.
Burandt uses the wrong set up and shouldnt be gearing up, he would have much better results, especially for his elevation, if he used the 29/69 ratio.
Yes, they have 2 kits. The kit kurts has been making for years is the 2.09 ratio (same as the pro ride gears) kit. The new kit is the 2.38 ratio kit he’s using in this build. Stock QD2 is 2.27 ratio I believe. The Kurt’s marketing is very deceptive because they don’t tell you the ratio (2.09) of the original kit, just give you a final drive ratio of 2.38.Do they have different gear down kits? Ive told Kurt multiple times that there is no need to factory driver reduction anymore as the sled come with small drivers. He's doing this because of the fact that lots of people back in 2013, when the belt drive came out, they went from an 8 tooth 2.86" diver to a 7 tooth 3" driver. So he is using the driver size difference in his calculation. Now, no one changes driver size. So the actual gear ratio is the only thing that should be advertised. Depends on rider weight and elevation, But i like using a 73-57.36 or a 73-59.36. Use either a black green, or red black secondary spring. What helix angle and spring rate is working in the Team tied clutch?
Can you run a qd2 belt with his gear down kit?Ive told Kurt multiple times that there is no need to factory driver reduction anymore as the sled come with small drivers.
