Polaris 800 Big Block VES motor *****SOLD*****

This is a Polaris 800 Big Block VES motor Newly Reconditioned by myself @ SLP from the crank and case up. I built this motor with the intention of drag racing it so I put extra time into details. Unfortunatly the race plans fell through (new baby) so the motor has to go. The case was stripped and line bored back to the factory tolerance of .0015” crush. The crank has a SLP billet PTO end and all new bearings as well as the SLP double row PTO bearing tough boy kit and the run out measures .00025” and under. The cylinders Have new nikasil and were ported by SLP. I hand match ported the flow lines from the case to the cylinder as well as the exhaust port to the flange so the entire motor has been match ported. The exhaust valves have been matched to the exhaust port as well. It has SLP power dome heads to run pump gas from 6000 foot and higher with a single pipe. I can also install different domes if needs be. Motor includes recoil, stator and flywheel. $1995

Snowman#1,

Thanks for the interest but I am looking to get $1950 out of this motor since it would cost around $3700 to build. $1950 is a great deal, especially since it was built by SLP with each part being put to the exact tolerance that we used for the motors we built for the Polaris factory race team.

Here is what it would cost to build a motor up to what I have listed

New Crank $1062
New case $590.04
New cylinder $515 Each
Porting $450
Piston Kit $155.83 Each
Head kit $330
Other gaskets, etc $?

Total $Over 3700

Thanks again,

Dustin

I've been collecting parts to assemble an 800 engine for 2 years now, some new, some 2nd hand, and I've mostly been getting pretty good deals and I've already spent more than $2000. No way in hel your going to build an engine like this for the money Dustin wants. If I wasn't so far into the pile of parts on the bench right now I'd buy it myself.

motor

I will try to come up with the money im in college and im of course trying to find a motor for the cheapest possible. I just purchased a 2004 pro x that has been lengthened out and hasmany extras, it had a fresh rebuild but the crank they put in was about 15/1000s out and the sled had to vibrate terrible. Three motor mounts were broke and it sheared the oil pump shaft right off. If I cant come up with the 1900 is there anything i could find for cheaper? the motor i have is pretty much toast the case is iffy and the crank i dont trust so is there any ways i could find a motor?? that needs like a top end simply for round 500 or so?

Sorry to hear about your motor. Tough thing about the 800 big block is it has been long enough since Polaris quit making them that alot of the good motor's have been bought up and the parts are getting more expensive so it is harder to find good parts from a reliable source. How many miles do you have on your motor?

K-dawg,
Yes, it would be expensive....around $90 in the US so probably double that in to Canada. I just recieved money for the motor so it is now sold. Thanks for the interest.
