polaris 700 IQ?

iv heard alot of complaints about the 800 and the 600 would probly be underpowered for me so im wondering about the 700? i'v heard they seem to be reliable but i would like to hear a few pro's and con's. also im torn between this and the rev 800 2004-2007. suggestions?

There are a bunch of threads already covering 700's vs 800's. Search will be your friend in the off season.

Well, in my experience, last winter I bought a 08 d7 with a 155. Two of my bubbies ride Doo 800s and one has a 08 d8. What I learned was this- as with anything, the brain that is riding is the most important part of this equation. Sure, 10 hp or so is cool to have on your buddies, but unless your seeing how far you can climb a skyscraper, that little bit of power is not an issue! Chassis and the rider's abilities that make good use of the power is what's important here. But to answer your question, I would not be scared of a 7. Mine kept up with all those 8's last season. My 7 is the third 700 I've owned- started with a 99 that I put a 144 under, then a 02 with a 144. The 700 in my opinion had the RMK for a reason- it was king. Now, the 7's still hold their own very well. Regardless of how big you go, its still about the techniques!!

700 won't disappoint. Stout engine. Nicely balanced in the chassis. If you are coming from older iron, you likely will be amazed at what it can do. Certainly made my 02 700 feel wimpy. Now, as a side note, if you do decide to go the doo doo route, stay away from the 07 800s that were nothing but a ticking time bomb....06 was the best year. Good luck with the search and happy summer snow dreams!

ok sweet! what about the agility of the rmk 700 compared to the rev 800? are the revs pretty tough to lay over? im pretty small and it definatly a concern!

The nice thing about the rmk is that you can adjust the skis to your riding i went from a 02 rmk to 09 rmk and it is super quick to respond when carving and side hilling you wont have a problem throwing it on its side especially when the skis are all the way in. my buddies that have revs cant out side hill or out carve me.

I've had an 07 D7 and an 09 D8. Stock, they were very close. The 800 hooked up at of the hole better (more torque) but they felt the same on top. However, once I put a high compression head on the D8, it would walk on any D7 equipped the same. Huge improvement. I never had problems with the D8 but obviously others have. I think you need to give some attention to the cylinders, shocks and track (I went with the Camo Extreme).

I never regretted owning the D7 because it was 100cc's less than 800's. I always told my buddies you have 100cc's on me so you better ride 100cc's better!

700's were available in both regular RMK's and Dragons (depending on years).

2007+ are all the CFI 700's. 2005 and older are the older carb 700's. Do not buy a 2006 700 (actually a 755). And please don't flame me if you have one and it is the best sled you ever had. I just think that the average guy should not buy into that sled.

wouldnt touch one with a ten foot pole. i have an 05 900 and when it runs it rips, doesnt run much though. what a headache! thanks for all the help everyone!

Very nice motor, have a 700 (08) ZERO issues, pipe and can, clutching runs spot on with 2010 d8 except no motor issues, separate jugs are your friend. Turbo one and you have a great sled.
