POLARIS 2015 Sleds: Photos and Details

Looks to me like Polaris decided to take another year off and I'm guessing that they must have some pretty impressive plans for 2016 sleds. I already know of a bunch of riders who are no longer going to snowcheck a Pro. I guess all the wonderful color combos didn't quite do it for them. On the other hand I've been surprised to see several Polaris Pro riders entertaining the idea of getting an Arctic Cat or Ski-doo after riding them this year. I guess all the sleds are getting extremely impressive. As far as the 174 ski-doo, looks impressive and I have seen other 174 inch tracks go great through the trees without problems. Time will tell.

I have idea that the t3 will be a pro and pro climb killer. Polaris should have at least updated there track. To a 3 inch.

Depends how you use it... I'm not convinced a 3'' is a good option for the vast majority of riders. Cat and Doo are doing it right by offering it as an option or in a seperate package even though many will buy it that shouldn't have it.
Anyways if you want a 3'' on a pro you can buy one and put one on it for the same price as Cat and Doo and still be 40lbs ish lighter. $14149 for the new Doo, holy crap!

I was on the Doo snowcheck builder and thinking.....I don't think I would actually check a 3" regardless of which manufacturer offered it, unless it was in a ~156 ish track length. I think that might be a cool alternative to going longer.

A 163" (or longer) 3" is getting to be a fairly one dimensional sled. Can't go too fast or you'll spit the lugs off, if you don't have the attack angle shallow enough it'll trench like crazy, heavier track, crappy-er cooling on hard stuff, no benefit for jumping, etc. You'd really have to think about the majority of your riding, and if you were actually increasing your fun factor....or just buying it because it exists.

I agree with this statement...seems like most people will buy it because bigger is ALWAYS better, right????

It'll no doubt be those people I see sitting on their new fancy 174" Doo in a wide open meadow with 6" of snow in it while I braaap past in the tight, technical trees:face-icon-small-hap

No doubt there will be a 185x3.4" next season too lol.

Never stay on top too long in this sport but I am sure next year when the ride comparisons come out, the Pro will still do some things better like they have since 2011.

I for one am happy what Polaris is doing this year and also happy that Skidoo is pushing the envelope.

Let Skidoo build the best pure hillclimbing sled. I don't really care about a 163 or 174 X 3" because I don't ride in chest deep powder but one or two times a year. The more any manufacturers push the industry the better all the brands will get or get out.

I'm looking forward to 2016 for Polaris. The flatlanders verify the engine and chassis. We will then get a really nice sled when it hits RMK form. In my book Polaris could go to an even narrower and lighter sled. 14" X 156 X 2.75" track. Narrow everything else up (ski-stance & plastics), lose 50 lbs. and drop in that new motor. Now that would be fun!

That would be so awesome to see. I'd be on that like a fat kid on cake.

I sure like the Keith Curtis Dominator wrap...I configured the white/orange sled with that wrap..OH MAMMA that was sure saweet!

I like to tree ride go in and out of steep ravines no runs at nothing but track and motor to get you in and out. I have a short track if I want to race down the trail. Option of a 3in would have been nice on the pro from factory. The series 5 track works great in powder but some firmer snow I'm not a fan of it. Challenger x is lot better overal track. We won't see anything narrower than 15 in rmk. Maybe track option like cat is order. I think rmk sales will slip if they wait till 16.

^ They are waiting until 2016, that much is for sure. I guarantee they are not holding back any secrets on the 2015's.

If you want a "factory" Pro with a 3"....sell your factory track, buy a 3", 7 tooth drivers and an anti-stab, have your dealer put it all in and you're probably right at the cost of a Doo. Or DIY to save bucks, of course. If you are dying for one, it's a pretty simple mod in the grand scheme of things.

That 1000$ worth of bait is going to sell some sled for sure. I have modded sleds like crazy in the past I can do it but its fun to ride a stocker poke fun at guys mod stuff that doesn't run very good. The track wouldn't affect that much but it's easier to sell a stock sled every couple of years vs a mod one. I realy have tested this motor this year actually beyond belief. I have not turned the oiler up but on some deep snow rides I have used 2.6 quarts in 50 miles. We see if it makes the year I will do a compression test and scope and go from there. Hard to sell a series 5 track about have to give them away. I have gotten to realy like pulling rope and ridding instead of doing someone's RD.

I want a pro with a 144" powerclaw and my EVOLs. Maybe an 860 too. Might just have to build one lol

So when configuring your new RMK it asks which protapers you want. Does my 2012 have the low rise pro tapers or high rise pro tapers stock?

I would bet that all the pros to date have had the high rise pro tapers and the low rise are 2 inches shorter like the burandt bars people have been buying aftermarket. I was thinking the pro tapers on the 12 have a 7" rise if that helps when comparing pictures.

I think you might be right on that.

Screw that I am 6'2" I don't care if low bars are the thing I need the tall ones and ride better and more comfortable with them.

I put a 3"-163 X3 track on my 13 Pro. Other than Air Frames I think the X3 3" is the single biggest bang for your buck you can do on a Pro especially if you are riding wetter coastal snow. I think it even made the sled handle better. Way better traction especially on the down hill. I heard a LOT of opinions from people who had not ridden a sled with the X3 that were negative but I pretty much ignore any opinion not based on experience, especially on the internet. I put one on my Cat this year and while better the difference was much less pronounced.

AmSnow’s Western Editor, Stephen Clark, had first crack at the new Ski-Doo Summit X T3 174. And he’s been nothing but impressed with the capabilities of the first-of-its-kind 174-inch tracked mountain masher!

174 has been around since 05 or so 'cuz Polaris had a 166..whopee on everything from 700"s to turbo WTF's. It seems it's all the rage at AmSnow must have never seen one before.
Pretty specific want so good to see it as an option..no way a "game changer" or "sales phenomonom"...wonder how long it will last..

Early R&R perhaps?? minus the pretty colors...........lol
