I bought a harbor freight 200 cc 6.5 hp for $129.00. It wasnt all that difficult just jerked the old one, drilled 6 new motor mount holes and set it in. Some other changes included custom pipe because the new engine lays flat so different location, custom air intake because it is now too tight for air cleaner, custom throttle linkage which I am still fine tuning and new rear sprocket (30). I had to take 2 links out of chain. This thing sounds wicked with the silencer from rec motors. It should do about 25 mph. My kid just about went off the back when she pinned the throttle for the first time. Still have to wire the kill switch and build a bracket for the choke cable. Ive got about 10 hours into it and probably 2 or 3 more to finish. Well worth the effort when you consider ive only got 300.00 into it and it is twice as fast as stock.
