POL VES oil shortage??

The Cedar City Polaris dealership has been out of VES oil for some time now and he says they may not get any till mid February! I usuallly have them fill my gallon jug but last week I had to buy some by the quart ($14!). Now they are completely out. They guy there also said that other dealerships are in the same boat. Has anyone had the same problem?? OR does anyone know whre I can get the VES near Cedar City?? Seems funny to have an oil shortage and/or shipping problem. I am planning on a fairview trip next week and I olan on checking with Cox's before I go.

I have never run anything but hte VES but if I need oil then what would be my best alternative? I hear good things about Amsoil for the VES engines and it is available here. Any info and opinions would be great. Thanks!

I am probably heading down there next week to ride. If the Heber or Kamas dealership has it I would be willing to bring some down for you.

Bad planning on the dealer's part and he doesn't want to pay the shipping. About 3 times a year they do a large oil order and they get free shipping when they do that. If they need oil at other times they have to pay shipping and it isn't cheap.

Thanks mtnpull. I will let you know. I just called Cox motorsports in Fairview and they have a lot. I'm going there next week and I think I will probably pick up some from then. Until then i think i will be good with what I have left.
Have you been up Snake Creek and the Ant Knoll this year? I had a fun ride there a couple years ago and I thought about going again.(relatives in Midway)

That sounds about right. They guy at the desk acted like it was a distribution problem but it didn't sound quite right. I have phoned a couple other dealerships and they seem to have plenty in stock. Too bad for us in Cedar because there is some DEEP snow to be riding up on top but at least I have enough for the weekend.

I haven't been up there this year. But you can count on it being good. Do you have any suggestions on where to start our rides down there? We will be staying at Pinewoods resort, but if better riding is 30 minutes away we will make the drive. Let me know what our best options are. We will be riding the afternoon of the 3rd and the morning of the 4th.

You will be staying at Duck Creek and I have never riden there. But the funnest areas to me are on the back side of Brian Head. There hills and boondoking areas through there. Then you should take a ride through the Cedar Breaks NP. Not supposed to ride off the trail in the park but in the lookouts there are some awesome views. There is some fun riding as you get closer to HWY 14 with some nice little hills in logged out areas. You can actually take trails from Duck Creek to Brian Head to HWY 14 and back to Duck Creek in a loop. Haven't done it all but threre are areas to play all along there. There are also some old lava pits you can play in but they are hard to find. If you find someone around Brian Head ask them about Bob's Hole. I guesss it is a fun spot to climb out of but I haven't found it. I would come along and show you but I will heading to Fairview. Have Fun!
