Poachers in North Bend

kinda like that movie with Snoopdogg, when he magically appears each time those dudes smoke weed.....couldn't find any video clips of that, mostly because I can't remember the movie!!!:beer;:D

Friday dog, Friday!

cause it's Friday; you ain't got no job... and you ain't got **** to do.

My wife took the dog for a walk this morning (up near Rattlesnake) and at the end of our road stumbled upon three elk legs laying discarded on the road. They were clealy cut off the night before. It takes one classy guy to kill an elk in someone's neighbor hood and then to top it off, leave parts of it behind in the middle of the road. Disgraceful actions like this piss me off to no end and ruin the public's perception of hunters. I'd love to see the book thrown at this guy.

The 4th through the 10th was early muzzleloader elk season. But to leave an elks legs in the road... how foolish.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you all but it was most likely shot by a tomahawk chucker.
The indian tribes can do almost anything they want and will not be prosecuted for it. The last time the state tried to prosecute an indian for killing two elk in a wildlife re***e the case went all the way to the supreme court.
The supreme court decided that any member of a tribe can hunt on any land that is public land and they can do it day or night. You would even have trouble prosecuting them for trespassing as they would claim that thier ancestors used to hunt on your property and that gives them the right to hunt even there. It sucks big time!!!!!!!

This might be the case, and they would leave the legs just to piss you off. But, if someone is walking around at night with a gun on YOUR property you can shoot them! The problem is he's wearing night vision.

The other thing is, North Bend gives out 5 any bull tags for private property hunts. I'm not sure when the season is but it's not a night tag?? They are trying to reduce the NB heard that is totally out of controll.

Funny you should say that. The public isn't allowed to even step foot into the cedar river watershed yet the Muckleshoot tribe is allowed to hunt elk in there. They put up a big stink when the area was off limits. They thought the "white man" was hiding all of the elk in there.

A couple of years ago there was a construction worker bragging to the home owner how he took down an elk before he started work one morning. Last year when we heard shots just before dawn we saw this same guy's truck driving through the neighborhood with his lights off, then again that evening. We know it was him, just couldn't proove it. He was a middle aged white guy and was doing a siding job up here. The funny thing is you don't do siding at night and you don't creep around with your lights off when it's dark.

No one saw anything this time.

Be careful with that one. If you shoot someone on your property just because they are walking around with a gun you will end up spending lots of time in prison.
If they are in your house than that is a whole different story!!

well...i just picked up my elk tags and the season starts saturday.....so, yeah...definately POACHERS ... I dont think that the private hunts have started in washington state yet....so, good luck to you and i hope you or the natural resources officers get them!!!

We're coming to the conclusion that someone is pissed about not being able to hunt here since the land was developed and they're just messing with the local residents. My wife kicked the legs off of the road into the grass only to find all of them back on the road a couple days later. Doesn't sound like something an animal would do and she said it didn't look like anything had be gnawing on them either. Too weird. Someone needs to get a life.

You for got the "at night" part.

If someone is on your property and your "LIFE IS IN DANGER" because they have a gun "AT NIGHT" BLAST THEM! All you have to do is say they pointed it at you, but you better finnish the job. Maybe this is my own little world but I'm shooting first, lawyer later.

I'm a firm believer that it's better to be judged by twelve than carried by six, but damn that's a little extreme. The law generally follows along with the immediate and unavoidable danger of death or grave bodily harm to the innocent before a person can shoot defensively. Then there are three questions that need to be answered first. Does he, the attacker, have the ability, the opportunity, and is acting in a way to put an innocent in jeopardy? If you can answer all three questions yes, then start shootin'. Otherwise it's best to be a good witness and get out of the situation.

Imagine looking at yourself in the mirror every morning for the rest of your life because you shot and killed a perfectly innocent person that was out for a hunt and got lost. Just because a person has a gun in their hands does not mean they are a danger.

Pleas stop giving the anti's more ammunition to use against those of us that want to keep our guns.

Okay, I'm done ranting. I agree that it sounds like poaching, get the authorities involved if for nothing more than a paper trail.
