When did this go down? And where?

I was in Indian Creek on friday when the three guys from Idaho got killed and while we weren't in thier vicinity we knew something was going on because we saw the SAR helicopter flying around.

One guy in my group triggerd a small avy off and a rider from another group fired off a fairly big one.

After seeing two rider caused avys and a few natural ones we packed it in and went home.

All this and not to mention the group of ten or fifteen with not two beacons between them, I know I asked.

I can't imagine riding right next to a group recovering a friend, and especially not offering help. That's not how we roll around here (as the kids say).

Condolences to the 3 lost in Indian Creek Friday. We were racing in Afton when they announced the SAR was leaving for a slide.

I can't even express how frustrated I am to hear that anyone was riding around that area. We came from I.F. to the races Thursday night and new without a doubt that area would be a death trap. Even in pitch black you could see slides coming right down to the freakin highway all the way through the Palisades stretch. Not to mention what kind of wind loading came with the 40 mph winds that went through there that night.

To anyone that rode that area, especially after driving in from the north, you need to pull your freakin head out and thank God you're name isn't in the paper with the other 3!! Every sign was given to pick another spot to go riding or maybe not even go for one weekend. Matt, glad you guys decided to jet after a couple close calls and got out safe, but was it even worth it to that point? Not trying to bash or single anyone out, just giving my .02 on what I picked up from going through that area. Be smart everyone, we won't be in the clear until this year is completely over. Thanks to anyone that came and checked out the races, hope we gave you a good show!
