please help turbo pro problems

I have a 2012 Pro with a BD Setup. Last year I had the exact same problem. I changed my fuel filter, went through the work of checking my fuel pump, regulator good, and all was fine in the fuel department. I finally called Manny at BD and he had me check the wiring to my main injectors. My fuel controller was showing that my primary injectors were not running anywhere near max duty cycle. Turns out that the wires to my main injectors had gotten smashed up against the engine block and wore through. So every time the engine loaded up and torqued back just a little, it grounded out my injectors. Fixed the wiring and its been fine ever since. Hope this helps, sounds like you are running out of things to look at.

Try unplugging the controller and see if you see any difference. Just remember it will go lean if it was working at all before. But since you are saying you can get to about 6000 rpm I would think that is about when the controller would start to work if it is.

Will do that sounds like it could be my problem. Thanks !!

If I unplug the control box but keep my turbo plumbed in won't it boost out of control?? Will this hurt anything ??

Thanks

You should only run it for a really short amount of time. All you are doing is confirming that with the box unplugged. that it makes no difference than when it was plugged in. Because with it plugged in it should richen the mixture but if it is'nt working then it would be the same as unplugging it and getting it out of the system. Do you have seperate air fuel gauge and boost gauge. If so watch to see when goes bad.

All I gots to say is buy a silber kit best drive ability an hp for the money an Justin an Jim are always there to help I have rode all brands of sleds an other turbo sleds an silbers is the best kit by far thanks again to the boys at silber turbos for making my riding a blast

From my understanding .. I could be wrong (which is likely !) hahaha

Taking the control box out of the loop will cause the turbo to build boost exponentially, as there is no longer boost control.

Given his lean spot is around 6k rpm. I would think he is in danger Of blowing his motor

Mtnpro I'd call Bd and ask them about this first

Why don't you start wearing panties while your cheerleading, grown ups are here trying to help a fellow sledder out troubleshooting his sled. Nothing in your post was contributing to his issues.

If running without controller. It would be a super short run. Not like you are going for a long ride. Just doing it to see if there is any difference. The reason I say this is we had a sled that the controller was fueling the sled at idle and it shouldn't have been doing anything until about 4500. So sometimes they do wierd things at the wrong time.

you shiuld be able to test the fuel box by hand. get a mighty vac pump. find the boost reference line going to the box. start the sled have some one rev it up. pump air into the the boost line and see what happens. if it adds fuel. it is not the box if it doesnt then there might be a problem.

another question is

have you made sure that your pipe is not blown apart at a weld? and checked grafoils seals?

Boondocker uses a boost reference hose on their control box?

There is a reference line going to the ebc. which sends a signal to the control box.

I kind of had the same issues last year from what i'm reading. It was my buddies sled that I took out for him to tune it and worked great for the first 2 days. It is a 12 with a 13 kit just like yours. It ended up being a bad control box, stuck the new one and haven't had any issues since.

Check your throttle body adapters (intake boots) The rubber pulls away from the aluminum. At first glance they might look fine but, try seperating the rubber away from the aluminum with your fingers. This could be the problem but it usually shows up as a rich condition.

UMM, Everyone has hit all the points, however, have you checked the pistons, I actually had both of my piston crack pieces of the ring lands out, one decided to go down around the crank and crack the lower crankcase.... It would show a lean condition.... I managed to richen it up thinking it was something else.... when I tore the engine down at the end of season... 4 pieces of piston were gone... Not a great story... but my sled showed all the symptoms of yours... It would run, drive, and even boost slightly. It definitely isn't the news you want to hear, but it is worth looking at, also found damaged reeds at the same time... Now I had a lot more miles on then you, but anything is possible. The easiest way is to just haul your y pipe off and look in at the pistons.. Good time to check over the gaskets. Also had a chafed TPS wire that left me sitting on the side of the trail for couple hrs till i found it.... Good luck with it.

i LOVE the lack of any punctuation to help make this statement make any sense.
...kinda something a telemarketer would say to keep you from interjecting in the conversation.

thanks everyone for the ideas

I put the sled back to stock and it ran great until the throttle stuck and it found a guard Rail

so I ended up with a new pro and slapped the turbo on it and everything runs great.

at this point I have no clue what the source of.my problem was....

but I have a runing sled now so im pretty happy

I guess that's one way to take care of the problem!
