The state Senate's presiding officer, Republican Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, set up the showdown between gun-rights supporters and one of Georgia's biggest private employers when he vowed Monday to stop any tax break that would benefit Delta.
"Corporations cannot attack conservatives and expect us not to fight back," he tweeted.
Do we condone blatantly politically motivated attacks on companies?
I mean, I don't really support tax breaks for these companies anyway, but I'm not sure explicitly stating you're attacking them for not supporting you is the way to go about it.
How's that different than the IRS making sure conservative groups have to jump through every hoop, delaying their paperwork?
So that's a yes, as long as they are attacks you agree with?Right or wrong... Politically morivated attacks on companies are damn near as common as Changing your underwear! This one just caught a lil’ more news! Delta kind of put themselves in hot water on this one!!! I’m sure They’re free to move headquarters if they don’t like it in Atlanta anymore!

I never said that! I said it’s not a new thing so don’t act like the right just thought of it!!!
I didn't. I am annoyed at the social media posts I see of conservatives crowing about it.
I wasn’t crowing about anything. Just sharing what I thought was an interesting story! I will do my best to avoid any of the companies involved in this though
I apologize, I didn't intend to say that you were. I have seen many people that are. I don't like government punishing companies for which other organizations they choose to (legally) do business with.

I don't really disagree with that, except for the statements by the politicians that it is explicit retaliation.Technically they are not being punished.
They simply are no longer receiving subsidies that they probably shouldn't be getting in the first place.

When they say it's retaliating, I'd say it's retaliating? Is it retaliation or is it ok for lawmakers to be the voice of the majority voters? That’s truly a question!

Ok, you answered my question. It's ok for government to retaliate against companies for business decisions, as long as they agree with you.Yes it is retaliation! I guess I meant is it ok for a state to say... if you don’t support what our majority supports then you’re not getting any tax breaks in our state?
