Plastic clutch adjuster on 09xp?

My 09xp came with a plastic nut on the secondary. It makes me wounder if they put an 08 clutch on it too. I was told the 09 was supposed to be metal. The dealer is replacing it with metal this week. How would you tell the difference between the 09 and 08 clutches?

i believe the only difference is the sheave adjuster, 09 should be aluminum, and all 08's came with the plastic. The plastic ones are known for backing out and blowing holes through side panels, so aluminum is the way to go! hope this helped

the plastic one also came on the early 09's--i actually just traded the dealer the metal one on our 09 everest for the plastic one--i hate the metal adjuster--its a pita to get off and adjust--

My 09 came with the plastic also. Most of the Snochecks did because the metal ones were on back order. The dealers are replacing at no cost.

The only other change was in the primary TRA ramps I think.. The '08 had a 413 and the '09 a 441. The '08 adjuster is junk! Was well worth the 40 bucks and 20 for the installation tool to upgrade on my '08.

Alot of the 09's came with a updated version of the plastic adjuster like the 08's. Had deeper holes so the tool was less likely to slip out. The 163's are the only 1's I'm aware of that arrived with a Aluminum adjuster.

the 09 also has a reverse angle helix on secondary and the 08 was a strait angle.
