Planning a trip to Canada

A little off topic but I'm looking for advice on what is needed to go to Canada to go riding. I live in north Idaho and Vernon is only 5 hours away. Besides passport and registrations for truck and bikes what else do i need? Do i need snowmobile stickers or groomer stickers? Any help would be appreciated!

The clubs in Sicmaous/Revy and from the Vernon side all sell trail passes at the trail head. You will need to buy one every day if you are using the trail system to get to the alpine. There are lots of ways up without using the trails but if you don't have a guide or know where you are going its easiest to just buy a pass plus it supports the club and all the legal fees and crap. DO NOT bring any weapons specially handguns, that's a go directly to jail trip in Canada.

Dunno yet. Wanted to go up this weekend to go to Regean Siegs womens riding class for the wife. But its a little late now and i think they are booked up. Prolly just go when we have another 3 day weekend

In BC we are now also required to have a “off-road license” on our bikes or sleds (government money grab) we purchase them through a insurance agent and I’m not quite sure on how they deal with visitors.

Visitors have to have whatever is required in their home state/province for riding on public land. IE lots of Albertans visit BC to ride, they need registration and liability insurance in Alberta to ride, therefore they have to have that to ride in BC. If your state doesn’t require anything probably should at
Least have prove that you own your bike/sled, and for your own protection liability insurance in case you smoke someone on the trail.

Thanks for the clarification

We are from Northern Alberta and have been stopped by the forestry and game wardens in the summer and winter. Big thing is to have registration.
As for trucks, make sure you’re not overloading it ie. half ton truck with deck and two sleds and a box full of jerry cans.

We make a trip from Alaska to Revy every couple years(this year in Feb) and besides needing the registration at the trailhead if asked(sticker on the kit) we were asked for registration and insurance when we crossed the Border also.

Insurance on sleds and bikes required in BC if from the US?
Like to get up there to ride, but rather not insure things I’ve never insured before just for the privilege of riding there.

You only need what ever you need in your home area.
If you need nothing then that is fine.

This is from our regs

If an ORV cannot be registered in a home jurisdiction (e.g. ATVs from Saskatchewan), then they must provide proof of ownership documents.
