Places to Stay in Island Park

I have a small group of guys going out to Island Park in February. None of us have ever been there and are looking for a decent place to stay. We aren't big on doing a lot of trail riding. Ideally we would be able to hit the mountains easily from the cabin. It seems like almost every cabin sleeps 50 people and we just need something small. Any ideas or recommendations would be great. Thanks in advance!

For mountains without a bit of a trail ride stay on the west side of the highway. IP is pretty spread out so you'll be doing some trail riding or trailering regardless.

Look at vrbo.com. Lots of private rentals. Check out eagle ridge ranch, if they are renting cabins it's just a few miles to Yale creek. Or the Ponds has cabins too, bit more if a trailer or trail ride distance though.

Thanks! Our group so far is only 4 of us. We don't mind if we HAVE to trial ride. I just wanted to make sure I was somewhat close. I just wasn't sure of the layout of the town and what the more snowmobile friendly places are.

The town is very sled friendly. Like said before the north or west side of the highway, which is also Main Street for about 20 miles, has mt jefferson which has the most mountain riding. Soouth and east of the highway is black canyon and two top area. There is some good boondocking but it's a long trail ride. The pines is another good option, about a ten mile trail ride to get to the realy good stuff, but they have good parking, and real nice cabins with hot tubs.

It's not a big cabin only 700 square feet but last year we rented it with 4 people and there was plenty of room for us. It is located right by Mack's inn close to a lot of good riding areas just need to do a little trail riding. It has a hot tube and 3 queen size beds and it is 2 bedrooms 1 bath room super clean. John is the owner and here is his number 208 360-6662. Last year in February he charged us $75 a night plus tax.

we always try to stay as close to Robins Roost Chevron as we can, it's a full service gas station and grocery store, awesome people who have always given me accurate snow reports. here is the website that I usually use to find cabins in Island Park. if you scroll down you will find cabins it sleep 6 to 10 that is usually about the right amount of space for four to six guys. There is also a map on the website for the different subdivisions of Island Park.

Where ever you decide to stay, stop by Ponds Lodge at least one night for beer, burgers and/or ribs.
