piston fit to cylinder holy hell

finally got my jugs off the 800 tonight, once I popped the head I was very surprised, I have been reading this forum for as long as the pro as existed (bought mine in late 2011) and read countless times about out of spec pistons at 10-11 thousands, got my head popped off an hour ago and my jaw dropped to the floor, just visually I was closer to .020 and even more, I could click them back and forth, and side to side, looking at the cylinder it was looking pretty good, got the jugs off and they actually look great, pistons look great at the initial look over, im confident I just need to rehone these things.

I don't have a proper measurement yet as I just pulled them off, but looking like around .020 or even more, I am a hobby machinist so I do have a good idea on specs, I expected to *click* them, but not by that amount holy hell.

whats the worst piston fit you guys have found pulling these motors apart?

im 2012 800CC pro assault with 1300 miles on her
RKTEK drop in ver 2 going in

ETA: as long as I am this deep, any thing else I should do? replace? check?

Just for comparison, i put in a new indy dan top end/cyl 2 weeks ago and checked this out.

I could not rock or move the piston (side to side) in the cyl (at tdc) at all! I was going to take a vid but never did, very solid setup!
