Pipe wrap installation ?

When you wrap your pipe, are you guys doing it dry or are you wetting the wrap? Any other suggestions for getting a real tight smooth wrap?

i did mine dry. i used 2'' wide wrap and it was rather difficult. if i did it again i would us the 1'' stuff. the tight bends and the narrowing of the pipe near the end make it difficult to look perfect. i managed to hide all the folds and what not on the bottom side so you cant see it. to do the whole pipe you will need 100 feet of either 2'' or 1''. as stated i used the 2'' and was about 5'' short of doing the whole pipe with a 50' roll. hope that helps.

I have done it both ways and although it is more of a pain, I will only go wet, It stays tighter and just works better.
Its been said that "Everythings better when wet"

yes that is a possibility but it keeps the heat in the pipe VERY well
