The sled weighs 100LBS less than the Apex we took the motor out of.

The motor in the actual sled hasn't been on the dyno but a similar motor made 310Hp @ 6500FT.

I think its simple

If the 3 cylinder power plant was such a spectacular power plant
why wouldnt we be seing yamaha using it in other things ???

the 3 cylinder was specifically designed for snowmobiles. They have better engines designed for other applications.

4 Cylinder may make more power but no one can deny that a wider engine makes for a poorer handling sled. Just remember the difference in handling between the 4 cylinder RX1 and 3 cylinder Vector. A narrower engine makes the sled much more flickable.
