ha thats funny. Where you guys ride windloading sucks and is hazardous...

But in the black hills windloaded hillsides are the only places to find decent snow most the time :P

Ya thats just waitin to fall on someone. Nice pics though

Yeah I took it with the zoom from a hill. I wasn't getting close to them. They fall every year around this time. 4 guys were riding underneath when we passed by. I don't know what they were thinking. I'm going back Saturday. I'll post a new pic.

You couldn't get me to ride under them. This is 3 weeks ago. You can see where some of it came down on the left side of the pic. A guy last week said there were a couple of guys that got caught in it. I don't know if it's tue or not.

i once walk on a wind loaded platform from the backside when i was young...just looking over the edge at the view ..didn;t know nothing was underneath me...saw a hairline crack appear...crapped my pants and slowly walked backwards...thanked my lucky stars and learned a very good lesson

The crack happened when you where on the cornice M8??? That would have scared the crap out of me also

yep...i thought there was still mountain under the snow...didn;t realize i was past it on the overhang till that crack went full width..and she was a long ways down..got a look at it from a differant angle after..and the crack was almost a perfect one inch wide the whole way across...must have been a supporting earlier blown layer that luckily supported it still..didn;t sink noticably..just a wierd little snap noise..

THAT is scary!!!!

I've had dreams of climbing a hill and then topping out to find out that I blew over a cliff....and then that long slow falling feeling wakes my arse right up in the middle of the night. I almost got that same feeling just now as I read your two posts. LOL

And they were all (at the same time) pounding the heck out of a very wind loaded (huge pillow) slope to the south of this pic....on a very high risk day at that. Nice pics doggers!

A dude in Tog this year blew up a nice pull, stopped at the top to find his skiis hanging over a 200 footer. Luckily he was able to back off it....

Newmy, that could have gotten ugly....FAST.

There was a thread on here a few years back (WITH PICS!!!) about a guy that DID that...only it was like 1000 feet and he survived...barely.
