Picked up a 2013 M1100 Turbo SP Limited-Few questions.

I rode 2012 1100 Turbo last year in Steamboat with the 163 track and loved it. Can't wait to ride the new model with all the updates. I plan on riding it stock for the first 350 miles. After that, reflashing the ECU with EVO 215 and putting a speedwerx straight pipe on. I'm not too concerned about the noise as I am coming off a 2010 M8 that screams with a super Q can that is still getting louder. I would not imagine that the straight pipe on a turbo would be any louder? Looking for maximum weight savings with no loss of power. I ride at 9500ft-13,500ft here in Vail, CO. I'll also be putting a light weight battery in so I'm looking at a total weight savings of about 30lbs. May look into a turbo wrap and intercooler fan as well as some bumper/belly pan protection.

Does this sound like a decent plan or am I missing a "must have"? Any things to watch out for? I would like to get a little more power to the track at low speeds. I usually re-gear but hear that it is not as simple as swapping out a gear. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the advice, it is always appreciated.

There are a number of things you can do for weight loss.

Exhaust can
Battery
Seat
Hood
Front suspension
Gas tank
Rear suspension arms

Those are probably the easy and inexpensive things. then if you want to spend some money go to carbon fiber and titanium. From suspensions, tunnels, complete chassis, etc. sky's the limit if you have funds.

Must have pieces for the 2013 are:

Skis
Lightweight Muffler
Check clutch alignment and deflection

Get those things done right away and you will love it.

what skis do you think will work best?

I second that question. Stock skis no good? I would guess that the Gen 3 simmons flex ski may hold the weight a bit better as they are 8 inches wide.

Just a guess.

Skiis are kinda like clutching, everyone has a set up they like best. The most common skiis put on the 1100t are the Simmons, powder pros or sly dogs.

Stock skis are terrible.

I like the Slydogs the best. I have run Slydogs, SLP Powder Pros, and Gen 3s.

The Slydogs are best all around, but in the spring snow are a bit harder to pull over because of the width.
