NO. Butt they are friends. Actually he passed away. Mosquitoe bites!
It is just a sign at mile 3.5 that was erected to get people to slow the heck down! Mostly city folk summer campers in a hurry to get up canyon and relax. lol.

I do live on Beaver creek. Pretty ironic. ;) :p

I have some crazy pictures with that sign...
Actually those could be incriminating photos when i run for state senate here in a few years... i need to get those back... :o

I have learned so many important things since joining this forum. Thanks Rock Star. I have wondered about that sign for many years. I'm glad to hear it isn't what I thought it was. Deep breath.......... That is quite clever!

We like to ride the Humpy Peak, Moffit and Gold Hill area. Going to do a lot of exploring this year in the Elizebeth Ridge and Blacks Fork area. We did a lot of Dirt Biking up there this year to get more familiar with that area. As far as large groups go, not very often. We (wife and I) like to go out and ride and I mean ride. Don't get me wrong, we would love to go and show off the area we like to ride, no matter how big the group. Just hate it when people show up late and stop and gossip instead of ride.
So if you want to hook up when we get some snow, let me know for sure.

BTW: you going to the New Years Eve Fire????? I love that night. Last year the guys with the frozen Keg were a riot.

I have really only ridden Liz up the radio towers and up the big meadow I got the Gps location for some big bowls. We take the back way up through one of my families cabins to get up their allot of fun riding.

We've gone out of Uinta Lands before and taken all the back ways. Maybe shouldn't say that too loud. Always some POW preserved in there on the not so Pow days any place else.:face-icon-small-win
Couple rivers can be tricky early in the season.

Hey SledHead, I have rode out of manor & unita lands before but if you go to the east isn't that private land? I know there is a fence there-How do you get over that or is there a gate that is open some where? That would be heading to mill creek area, Just east of untia lands????
Just checking I hate having to ride the rode up to the top.

Forums aren't the best place to discuss riding area. We do go east and there are fences we go around, but never have to cross. You can work your way over Elizabeth Mt or go around it. There are some private land crossings before you get to the top, and that's all I have to say about that. (in my Forest Gump voice)

Great anwser, You know we don't care that you ride on our land in the winter just don't cut the fence, The upper part of our fence we lay down just so no sledder get hurt by it. But like I said we don't mind sledders on our land it just suck spending two weeks every spring fixing the fence's that had been cut during the winter.
Good riding to you.

BBD91 I ride the chit out of that property. I just olly hop the fence!! I like to chase the moose and elk up there:)

Not to change the subject, this was what the Avy center has to say about our snowpack so far for the season.....

Once again this year we’re faced with a complicated snowpack that will no doubt get extremely cranky once winter kicks into high gear. The very unusual Thanksgiving weekend rain crust has everyone concerned and for good reason. It seems this crust is strong enough to hold some additional snow weight, but fails on well developed weak sugary facets when we try to perform any snow stability tests. Big take home point here is that it's going to be dicey once it starts storming again.

While our snowpack adjusted rapidly to Monday’s light density snow, strong winds late yesterday and overnight created wind drifts in upper elevation, leeward terrain. While more the exception than the rule, I think you might be able to trigger avalanches in isolated areas today which have the possibility of breaking into weaker snow at or just below the rain crust, creating a larger avalanche than you might be prepared for.

Everyone make yourself aware of the situation, check out this http://utahavalanchecenter.org/advisory/uintas
link everyday before you ride and while bored on wednesdays in the office.:)

That is if me and my bro don't rip it up before you! favorite spot to ride in the world! just have to let it sit a little longer then the rest of the areas, alot of stumps, logs, etc that make it a scary sucka early in the year. Oh and last year i stoped in a flat area in the bottom of a canyon down in there, on new years day, my flippin dragon started sinking to the bottom! had to gun it fast!
