My Dad was on this District (the day before he was going to retire) when this happened 20 years ago in the S. Fork of the Flathead River, Montana. This is Lou Kiss (sp??) from Montana Game and Fish. He got a broken leg from the bear which then got seriously infected while he was in the hospital. This happened to be the release that all the press and outdoor writers were invited on so that's how they got so many photos of the incident. The 6th shot to the head from his handgun killed the bear.



I got the pics and this note in an email a couple days ago
