Here is a pic of the IceAge Rush Mtn mod taken at the SLC Intermountain show yesterday.

I really don't have any other good pix as my camera went wonky on me at the show.

This is a work in progress and is not yet a complete sled.

Details as I know it... stock 600 Cfi Rush motor, custom Ice age tunnel with Better boards and custom running board edges...Timbersled Barkbuster front end with Walker Evans Needle shocks. Custom seat support for the rush seat. 155" Polaris series 5.1 single ply track.

The rear suspension is the new Ice Age custom 28 lb suspension (due for 2010/2011 season) with new Raptor Brand air shocks.

I don't have any other details yet... and I thought you might like to see that this is possible.

I'd like to see a Boondockers turbo equipped 800 CFi motor in this sled... now that would rip.

Mike tells me she sits at aroud 405 lbs dry, no coolant, or oil on the scales.... he's always been a stickler for weights before... so I'm sure this is accurate.

With some other lightweight goodies on her... I'm sure that a 440 - 450 lb ready to ride w/fuel weight is possible.

Looks like she'll be a ripper!!

Mike, if you are reading this... please fill in the blanks if you can...and keep us updated... NICE WORK!!

I was talking to those guys at ice age yesterday also. He said that they havent had it on the snow yet. I think it is awesome. i would love to have one. I talked to the guy for a while about it. Definitely an awesome sled. Great job ICE Age

i wish i would have thought of taking some pics. The shocks are pretty cool and are should be pretty awesome. The guy said they have front shocks but still in the works. I hope the polaris reps like the sled also

Kinda hard to tell, but is that actually 4 rails? Any snow time on this style of rail? Seems like snow would collect inbetween? I love this type of "outside the box" thinking, whether it works or not, at least someone is saying what if...?

They are actually 1 piece extruded rails. This is where a lot of their weight loss comes from. you can see at the rear of the rails instead of running them full height in aluminum like typical rails, they ran them short like in the midsection with and alloy tube connected to gain the same effect essentially.

I talked with Mike at the expo in West last spring for about an hour about the new alloys and technology they are incorporating and all i can say is they guys are top notch in my book. they are pushing the envelope of high performance, light weight, strong products more then most ive seen.

Such a very cool concept vehicle! Can't wait to ride it:D:D. The new rail design concept is really amazing. THEY FEEL FAKE! Can't wait to see more results in the field and (do) some serious testing. My big concern is the limited pipe flexibility for other (BIG) engine applications. This was one of the quietly cool things going on at the SLC show. Kind of like Toyota's duellie prototype diesel at SEMA...may or may not ever really happen but a treat to look at!

Hey guess what is in Kevin's Carl's Junior bag to win a prize. Think in terms of "Rob Kevin and Megan need breakfast"

Sorry folks, but to classify as a tricked out Rush, you must retain the Pro-Ride rear suspension. That is the true puzzle.

Absolutely NOT possible to run the Pro-Ride in a long-track application... so that part of the puzzle will remain in the box that got thrown out.

This is less a tricked out Rush than it is a possible preview of what can be in a logical evolution of the IQ chassis... which is what we need to see more of IMO.

The Cast bulkhead and extremely rigid pyramydal structure plus the improved steering post motion should lead to a very strong, light performer in the deep.

Why is it "ABSOLUTELY impossible" to run a Pro-Ride idea in a long track setup?

I mean granted you can't just throw some rail extensions on a Rush and hope it is gonna ride right. But if you built a frame piece to extend the suspension back with the track, in theory it should be doable.

I think dismissing the Pro-Ride as IMPOSSIBLE for a long track suspension is a mistake.

I think there might be some ways to make it work ;) , but if the Snow Cross team was breaking the 121" I don't think it is a practical application at this point in a mountain sled. There would be alot of force being transferred to a single shock with a longtrack.
The sled itself looks incredible though.

I realize that dumping the Pro-Ride rear end while retaining the Rush front end would be inevitable; however, to me, it is a sad action when one must compromise the latest technology to go forward. For me, the Rush never was viable due to its lack of carring space for additional fuel and gear and that you couldn't tow anything. So I was faced with removing the rear tunnel and all and building a Switchback with a Rush front end. I guess we are the ultimate test mules. And who knows where Team Polaro will go with the Pro-Ride rear end?
