to make a long story as short as possible.
last year i put on a bikemanperformerkit and dynoed the sled to 175 hp @ 7650 rpm. (sled made 159.6 hp @ 7100 rpm stock)
this year i wanted more power and decided to have the cylinders ported.
the company that made the porting stated that it whould put out about 190 hp @ 7600-7800 rpm. they have made a couple of sleds like that. al whit slp single.
as i never liked the fit and finich of the bikemanstuff i alsow baught a full slp exhaust system and a set of vforce3 reeds.
as trying the sled out i couldent make it rev over 7600 rpm.
and as i was trying to figure out why i stombled over a dynoshart from an exaktly identical sled as my own.
same company porting, full slp exhaust, v force3, hi flow intake.
only thing that differd was that my sled has a 1.25 degree timing key.
that sled put out max 176 hp at 7200 rpm. i have no egt numbers but the bsfc was 0.65 (same as my sled last year by the way)
whit that info i looded my clutch to bring down the rpm to about 7400 and i can feel that it has more power ther.
176 hp at 7200 rpm is quite good in my book. but what can cause the powercurve to take a dive after that rpm?
slp states 7600-7800 rpm in ther instruktions. so does the company that has made the porting.
my egt´s is about 1200f whit the probe about 5" from piston squirt, 600feet alt. boondocker box.
both sleds ar -09 cf1000
any ideas? can the porting be bad? can anything else mess up things? like the pipetemp sensor.
can the stock intake be limiting?
