performance ?

I,m thinking of having my header, pipe and can ceramic coated. I,m hoping this will help with future rust problems and maybe give alittle performance gain. I,m driving a 2009 Switchback 600. Anybody have any experance with having this done, good or bad?

Just remember that swaintech needs to be painted with a good high temp paint after. I had my can coated by them to get rid of the hot right foot. It is a thick real coating not some shiny for show coating. It should help keep the pipe heat in.

what did they charge you to do your can...they wont quote w/o seeing it so its hard to get an idea before you send them off..

i was under the impression that you can CHOSE to paint over the covating if you didnt like the white color...its strickly by choice, and color preference...

Your probably won't get much for gains. You will be able to ditch the heat shield. I ceramic coated my 800 Assault Y-Pipe and pipe locally.

I was right around $75. Your gonna want to paint it. It will get real grimmy if you don't. You could see finger prints just from handling it. And it's kind of a dirty white/beige. We did it over the summer right when they were moving and they told me they don't paint but did recomend a brand that I bought for $10 at Autozone. Sorry I don't remember the name.

I did my pipe on my 09 D8. It's so hard to tell if it is helping or hurting (after ditching the stock shield). I know there are tests by the guys who do this that say the heat stays in better, but I could never tell.
