With the release of the Power Commander V with Auto-tune, this poses a question. What about us....

I know it is possible, custom harnesses and hardwiring aside, who is gonna step up to the plate and make it usable for us. Will the auto-tune be two-injector friendly?? Has any of this been tested?

These are the questions I have, I have a Power Commander III usb on my moto-scooter with good success. There has been a closed loop system floating around for my bike from someone in germany for awhile, but it was all custom built with custom software by some enthusiast at home. It was only a matter of time before the V came around and now that its here....... When do we get some cake??

I don't have the resources or knowledge to solve these issues myself but maybe I can get the ball rolling in the right direction! Up the mountain with us.

i have already installed a pc III usb in my brothers 900 i think the v would be no problem to figure out. it will basically wire in the same. i may try it on my 975 but it is running so good right now i will see what it does in the mountains and make my decision but i would be glad to help with this also.
 
that would be good. I think i will be buying one too. i don't like the boondocker box and i like the more tuneability of the power commanders. we will see how my brothers does.
 
Keep us all posted. I wanna get a PC too, but only if I hear some success stories. I don't have the tuning experience to figure this stuff out.
 
Haha, I will but now isnt the best time. 19 days till I leave home, 43 till I get on the plane to Iraq
 
PC V or five is the latest piggy-back ecu from Power Commander and the auto-tune is closed loop software that makes adjustments on the fly to obtain a certain AF ratio. It is kinda like a boondocker control box but better IMHO
 
Would think with an 07-09 800 manual and the 900 it would be feasible to wire but what about performance/ecu compatability. Can not get an answer yet...it is the holidays.
 
The PC-V (any Power Commander for that reason)... have the ECU plugs already installed on the harness.... not something you "splice" in... and only for 4 injector motors.

Now that being said... the 2006 900 is a 4 injector motor BUT... it runs different impedance injectors that run at double the pressure of any other CFi motor (8 bar vs. 4 bar).

I'd like to see a PC-5 for the 900's.... just not that many of them out there that would warrant the investment IMO....

Just Fyi we have installed a pc III usb on my brothers 900. I used one for an 08 800 cut the connectors off and wired it in using my own connectors. it is working good. i don't think it would be a problem running the pc v

depending on how the 975 runs i may try one next year on it. i like the part about auto tune. i would like to install the crapy running htg ecu and see if it can tune around it and compare to the carls ecu.
 
Talked to the DynoJet guys at SEMA and tried to persuade them (ok begged)
to look into a system for the 900 (as there are many polaris apps) Keep your fingers crossed MH !!!!!
Was shown III usb sytem how is it workin BIGDAWG? Custom map?

still working on the map but so far so good. mag cylinder is lean so he built a few maps with those injectors richer and we will see in a week. will report back he has a cpi pipe and can and a 14-1 rkt head. if we get it figured i will be more than glad to share the map with everyone.
 
Bigdawg, in your brothers sled, are you running the Power Commander on the 2 injctor/4 bar 2005 900 or the CFi-4 injector/8 bar 2006 motor?

Please post up some pix of the splice job.
Any pix of the Power Commander schematic that you can share with us?

I may just try to run the Power Commander 5 with Auto Tune and the AFR module if I can get it to work with the unique CFi 2-900 system

I would not recommend "piggybacking" on an already "piggybacked" system... eg, putting a boondocker unit on top of Power Commander.
 
I run pc-3 on 2 900`s. Both 06 with stock 4 injector fuel system.
Also made a wiring shema

You have to use a Multi-Function Hub for PC-3, and a Dry Nitrous System
with constant nitrous flow.

Can the orange and yellow wires remain un-used? Would a shunt resistor need to be used for a CFi 2 injector setup?

Would this be true with the Power Commander 5 with the autotune?

I would only be interested in the PC-V.... I would only be interested in a PC that has the ability to auto tune on occasion (I'm not a beliver in Full-Time (closed loop) function because there is NO lambda sensor that is compatible with the oil rich exhaust environment ... the reason that the plug is suppled with the PC-5.

Is this also the pinout for the PC-5??
