And really, when you add up what you'd pay for software that the Mac already comes with, the price tag really isn't that much different.

One nice thing about the fruit boxes is that they are built a BSD Unix kernel. (ala NeXT) Albeit a weird implementation, it gives you access to various shells where you can do a lot of stuff without dealing with the GUI.

Ironically both OS's run on Intel hardware now, so it really comes down to picking the right tool for what you're trying to accomplish, rather than the typical religious/fashion decision most consumers are lead to believe.

One PC highlight: keyboard shortcuts tend to be more consistently implemented.

One Mac highlight: many services are built into the OS (SSH, scp, etc) where other OS's require separate applications(putty).

bump for more votes...curious how many peeps will vote and surprisingly the mac is holding a higher margin than the real market shows. Prolly because we are mostly recreation users here and not a true market sample.

Sorry that I have an opinion. If you have a rebuttal to my opinion I gladly accept it with open eyes. Not once have I responded telling everyone how they are so wrong to own a PC. I simply just said that I like Mac and was wondering what everyone else preferred. So if you are going to tell me that I am completely wrong please don't hide behind your PC's monitor and feel like a bad azz...
