Parking downhill causes Flooding? or??

Yesterday we realized that when we park my buds sled downhill for a period of time it wont start untill you coast downhill and park on a flat area.

My question is:

Is it flooding out? Or is it starving for fuel? I have no idea.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Flooding. Real common problem with the mid to late 90's Ski Doo's. The float bowls are tilted and the needle doesnt seat hard enough to stop fuel from flowing into the bowls. The excess fuel doesnt go out the vent- it comes up past the jet needle & needle jet "flooding" the motor.

it's a mid 90's 700 wildcat motor if that helps.

Maybe we could adjust the floats. Actully, we might put a remote fuel shut off right next to the choke cable so he can shut the fuel off if need be.

My brother had a 96 670, it was notorious for flooding when parked downhill.

Best way to start it was to pull the rope like crazy while holding throttle wide open. (Helps to have a buddy nearby to give you a hand)

Been there, done that.......My '97 Summit was the same way. I never bothered to take that carbs apart to see if there was something that could be done with the float assy. Surely something could be done about it other than, of course, leaving the sled parked on the hill like I had contemplated a time or two....;):beer;

Probably due for a new needle/seat if it hasn't been replaced. A shut off will also help, just have to remember to turn it back on...been there!
