Painting my sled deck

Hey there folks,

As the title sais im looking to paint the plywood on my sled just to make it look a little nicer for the winter. I'm no stranger to painting, but am wondering if anyone out there has done it and what product they recomend?

And do the carbides/runners just chew the paint of immediatley or not?

any help appreciated,

Daniel

Concrete floor paint and sprinkle sand on it while wet to give more traction.

Line-X

I haven't done mine but I would consider one of these two methods if I did.

Walmart sell rustolium bed liner in a 1 gallon can. Just rolled it on mine, used 1.5 gallons, it turned out great and works well with the carbides.

I used a good outdoor deck stain, wanted black so took a clear stain and had them mix in a black dye. Rolled it on and sprinkled with a very fine sand for traction. I cant remember what the sand was called but ask about it at Menards, Lowes or where ever you shop and they should be able to help you. Stop by the junk yard or a spray in bed liner shop and pick up a plastic bed liner, most shops will give them to you for nothing. Cut it into 12" strips and screw them down for ski guides to keep from tearing up your deck and you are all set. Total cost was about 30.00 to include the stainless steel deck screws to hold down the ski guides, keeps them from rusting and breaking off. Hope this helps you out...
