painted rails scratcher protection

anybody out there making a rail protector for the new painted rails to keep the ice scratchers from scratching them up?

I use rubber hose. I believe its 1/4" I.D. Had to warm it up to slide it on the angle of the scratcher that contacts the rails.

Mine are black so I just put some black gorilla tape where they sit on top of the rail. Held up good all last season

I had some extra rubber bumper pieces left over when I switched to the Ice Age rails. Work good.

Did you just glue the rubber to your rails? If so what type of adhesive did you use?

I run Duraflex scratchers and put a stainless eyebolt through the rail and hook the ends through the hole in the eyebolt.

I bet car door edge molding would fit nice on the top of the rails.

I used two zip ties with some smaller vacuum line or 3/8 hose I think, Worked perfect!

I can't remember for sure, but I'm bet some yellow gorilla snot (3M Weatherstrip Adhesive) would do the trick.
