Pacific Coast Highway Trip Questions!

I have been to Tahoe one time and I remember the water temp was like Lake Superior. Stupid cold and clear.

Thanks. Got everyone bookmarked om my Mac. Yes we need a month but we are stuck with 14-16 days. Dang!

Thanks again. I have been to IP several times but I always wondered if it would be worth it to take Hwy 47 and check it out. Now I know and we will do that for sure. We always stop in West for pizza at Wild West Pizza and wings at the Buffalo bar, and Connies and Ponds in IP.. Is it true you can see the Tetons from Hwy 47?...... Right now we are looking at renting a car on both trips. It's fricken cheap!

Yes you can see the Tetons from Highway 47. When you get down on the south end and come up out of Warm River, look to your left.

You will have a pretty spectacular view of them off to the SouthEast.
It would be worth the drive to head down Highway 32 from Ashton to Driggs and grab lunch or dinner in Driggs. From there drive up towards Targhee Ski Hill and you will be practically right under them.

I have to agree on the pick an area and just explore until you have to head back east. I hate it when my wife books a hotel hours away from where we started. I feel like I have to get there and just blow right through areas I'd like to check out just so I can get to the dumb hotel she has already booked, sometimes months in advance.
