PA/RKT head vs. SLP pipe

Like the title says. Does anyone have any experience around sleds with just a head or just a pipe and then clutched accordingly? Suppose both cost the same amount of money, what you you choose? I'm specifically interested in the performance gains of both at 9000ft + altitudes.

I'm interested as well. I ride from 9-13000 ft and want to put the pa head on this year. Also thinking about the Slp pipe and can but I don't want to run the pc5. Have heard this is a sweet set up,any info would be great.

for the "gain vs cost" especially at 9000 and above... are either one really worth the extra 10 ft up the hill? not trying to be a debbie downer, neither mod just really seems worth it. we are talkin less than 10 horsepower at sea level on either mod so imagine how little you will gain at 10000 feet. plus, neither one adds any reliability.

Pa head and MDS weights

I ran the Pa for 5000 ft and MDS weights. I didn't notice any difference except my bank account seemed to drop. Thats just my personal experience as I think some others have head good luck. I tried a few different weight combos, the difference in snow pack from day to day made more of a difference, but for me nothing noticable on the engine. I am going back to stock for the warranty/reliability (not saying its not reliable just easier if there is warranty). Stuff is forsale.

I personal like the pa head if ur gonna ride 9k plus only. Bump the compression up with the head and u just gained back allot of the HP u lost in elevation change.

What mileage is your sled? You should have your engine checked. With all the good feedback on both PA head and MDS weights, sounds like something is wrong??

700 miles on my sled, put it on around 500 miles. Sled was running fine when I put it on. My engine actually cratered at around 700 miles (top end but never pulled apart further than head) so parts are off now and sled is in for warranty, dont think it had anything to do with the head but it sure is not going to make my warranty claim easier. I wont put it back on just because I didnt feel any difference. The one guy I ride with also had it on with the HPs can and did not notice anything, he also pulled his off and has his for sale I think still with the can and head. I am not saying its bad product it just never made the difference for me to worry about warranty.

The dome on the one head is damaged and needs a new dome. This is why the warranty may be tricky as I put the original back on.

Again I dont really think it had much to do with the head. I am keeping things stock as long as I have warranty - so much simpler.

If you really think about the numbers at 9 hp gain and say base of 140 hp to be conservative thats a 6% increase only in midrange to be able to notice. Like I mentioned earlier our snow conditions are slightly different everytime I ride so to compare small HP mods, and not on top end gains, in my opinion is pretty tough also probably because I dont spend alot of time in mid range...

Anyway thats just my findings.
