p85 on a yammy

Youll need a p85 from an 800. I used a 03 800. Youll need to have a puller made. the stock yami nor the stock polaris will work. I have a polaris one cut to fit. But sold it with my 800 mmax.

RMK 800 P-85 on mine too. Had a buddy make me a puller out of a Poo one. Stock Yami bolt worked fine for me. I am running 10-54's and a Black/Green spring. I have a 16" wide track (more load) and a Team roller (uses less primary weight) When I was running the stock secondary and a 151" x 15" track i was running 10-58's.

The biggest difference youl find is the price of replacement parts. Poo is cheaper. I run the p85 and team roller on an 800 and 950. I had one on a ported 700 and ran 10-56's dark blue spring and 46-40 helix in the stock yamaha secondary at 9,000 rpm. Hope this helps:)

P-85/Team combo works good for me too. More consistant rpm's and backshifts like a dream with the roller. Initial cost can be high, but my Yami primary was cracked and my secondary needed a rebuild so I put my cash into the new stuff. I still run the stock 8DN belt.

I run a P-85 with the stock secondary (one with multi-angle helix & one with a Shockwave) on my UBR 944 and my SC APEX.
I didnt like the TEAM so I pulled it off.
Love the P-85.

update.

I scored a p85 narrow bushing from a 600 or something.......it was in good shape. I loaded it with 10-58's and am gonna go almond spring. (currently has orange/blk) I did not like the way the stock yammy bolt sat in the poo clutch, so I made a trip to ace. I found the stock bolt for the yammy is a 1/2-20 bolt. I bought a 1/2-20 X 7" and trimmed 1/2" off of it. I also bought a 1/2"-5/8" shouldered bushing. this bushing fits perfectly on the bore of the clutch and the shank of the bolt.

the poo clutch is just plain better built. it is heavier everywhere.

just wanted to post my results for the next guy. this is the way to go.
