owner of new 09 m1000

bought a new 09 m1000, put a can on it went to mountains and rode love it so far, pulling around 7300 rpms that normal?gotta get the skis' down too, any other simple mods i can do, wanna keep it so i can ride worry free, got a can and side vents.

If you were to ask Arctic Cat they would say that 7200-7400 is optimum performance. I would agree. Acceding 7500 on the 1000 with out adding fuel via BD or Power Commander is not recommended. I have found that adding a gram or two to you cam arms is helpful, also reeds and y pipe really bring the motor alive. A can is nice, it will loose you some weight and it will sound nice, but I did not like the performance of the can until I added reeds, Y Pipe and BD box. Good Luck...

Suck up your limiter straps as much as they will go and see how you like it. If that's not enough, and I thnk it should be, I think you can drop the front mouning to th lower hole?

It;s a nice sled, enjoy!

You can get better lift control without sucking the limiters up by loosening the front shock & adding a bit of psi to the float.

Try different things, I hate the limiter being sucked up, you might love it, personal preference.

7300 is right on the money. If you hit 7400 you're losing power on a stocker. The ideal is 7200-7250.

You'll love the sled, they're a blast.

Add Y pipe & bdx intake, big performance gain for little money & also weight loss from the front of the sled.
