OVS Propane Turbo

Hey Buddy, I quess we will find out if this old guy can keep up with you young guns when you get back. Can't wait to see your pipe and intercooler. What boost are you running now?

It's actually more due to the LP vapor occupying space which could/would otherwise be air. Lowers the VE of the engine by exactly the denominator of your air/fuel ration.
I am excited to see how Propane DI develops on the 2 stroke mountain sled engines, that would be awesome. Would get rid of exactly what you are talking about, less air space occupied by fuel, the evaporation would cool the charge in the cylinder, no converter/coolant lines so the system should be lighter/cleaner plumbing. I believe getting a solid stream of liquid to injectors on a vehicle that has to be capable of operating upside down is one of the big hurdles, as well as it would probably have to have it's own computer which would also be costly. Pretty sure I would be first in line (behind all the other guys who are probably already in line) for a kit like that!

I also talked to Travis and he said that his are running about 4400 engagement so I am going to add some heel to try to bring it down a bit. My neighbors will probably appreciate it:)

Just to let everyone know we had the propane sled out today in the hills snowing heavy couldn't see but we made the best of it. Over a foot of fresh and the sled ran awesome. we couldn't see well enough to drag side by side but the race gas m8 and the barbecue sled seemed to be identical for seat of the pants testing and we traded alot. One thing that is really apparent is how friggin clean and crisp the propane sled runs and a lot of on and off throttle and no lag once on boost. really happy with the clutching and power. ran 40 miles and still have fuel left.:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap Robert if your running 21# I might just have to get the pipe and intercooler for the Broil King cat.

Update on carrying extra fuel

Just talked to Travis today and the buddy tanks are close to ready. I will talk to him tomorrow or the next day to confirm and get one shipped. Don't know the capacity yet but it will sure be peace of mind to get home if needed. cheers:face-icon-small-hap

Says $7800 on their website..... not sure what all that includes tho. Almost makes me wanna buy a Cat.

Yes that is correct for $. As far as the buddy tank goes I don't have a price for it yet. Then of course there is the install labor cost for the kit. In case I didn't mention it before we are also a dealer for OVS turbos. Maybe a little far away for some but of course right next door to Alaska and Northern B.C. cheers.:face-icon-small-hap

Where are you located?

How many LP turbo kits have you installed?

Location

We are located in Whitehorse Yukon . Listers Motor Sports Arctic Cat dealer. We have only installed one LP kit so far but a # of other turbos from pump to race gas as well as upgrades like intercoolers and Tial kits. I am sure withnthe way this propane kit is working that we will certainly be doing more in the future. cheers

Especially for the price I have to pay for propane.. :)

My only concern would be any liabilities to LP as a fuel in a 2 stroke.
