Overcase day but still fun

Went for a ride up Soap Stone with swtsunshine, mgm100, one of their friends and my nephew. Snow is settling but we did manage to find some fun little jumps to play one.

Does wolf creek open up into soap stone?

I've only ridden outta wolf creek twice, kinda wanting to learn that area better. seems to get snow and is closer to me than rabbit ears.

I rode soapstone today too. First ride of the season for me and all I can say it was the best first ride of the season I have ever had. Boondocked all day and no carnage. It was kind of hero snow though. There are a lot less paths through the trees when there isn't much snow we found out...

Didn't see a sled while out. Showed up early and left early.

There were 3 of us. We did hear people trying to follow us all day although. Jumped off the SS trail and went up top of IM and then eventually found our way to the upper CS trail and were wore out so left.

Met about 5 DNR rigs on the way down about 2PM though. Don't know what was going on...maybe xmas tree pillagers?

They were probably figuring out what to do with this guy -- we were in the parking lot about 2 and this guy showed up with DNR escort -- must have taken a wrong turn in Kamas!!!

I saw him on our way down, he was trying to turn around about a mile down from the parking lot, didn't really work out for him.

Yes, Once you're up on the summit head up North up the forest roads/drainages or, go down the West side and take the road up back up to Soapstone.

More like it WAS. The gate is still open so all the x-mas tree poachers are driving up past Mill Hollow turn off. Between the trucks and warming temps the road was pretty much down to pavement by the end of day Saturday.

Good hero snow up top with some nice pow still left in pockets. Great first ride for my Pro and my wife's new-to-her Q.
