07 M8 i use 1 tank of oil for every 1.5-2 tanks of gas.. Seems a little rich??? What are other guys getting? I figured i should get at least 3 tanks of gas to oil???

A cat over oiling thats crazy talk there are alot of posts on this subject the best way to tell is fill up with gas fill oil tank up ride it measure the amount of gas and oi. 128 times the gallons give you ounces of gas gas divided by ounces oil it will give you your ratio best is a 36-40 to one average. if its in the 20s its way too much

you have to perform accurate fuel to oil measurements. talking tanks of fuel, to tanks of oil, may not be as accurate as one may think.

generally the m series has a 10 gallon fuel tank and approx 3 quart oil tank. so ue that as your base but, you need to be accurate or error to the rich side. better to over oil, than to under oil. ski

actuality over oiling can cause alot of problems it affects the fuel mixture via the pipe temp senser can actually cause a lean condition and score the cylinder walls plusss it causes carbon buildup and carbon has lots of sharp cutting edges WILL damage bearing and cylinder and take lots of life out off your hi performance engine. Plus they run like crap burning too much oil. There are lots of 2 stroke machines that run over 100 to 1 ratios. I had a evenrude boat engine and the manufacturer recommend a 50 to 1 premix ran like that for 30 years boat was built in 1979. If you talk to cat the dealer is responsible for setting your oiling they do not come from cat set. Its in you set up check list you sign. How many crank failures have you heard of on a m sled

So the oil rod do you twist it down for leaner or un-twist it? How is everybody like the oil delete?

longer less oil i line up the index marks there are two one for idle one for wide open first as thats what the dealer was supposed to do then check the ratio fill gas to white neck and oil tank to a place you can duplicate and check the ratio. Do a ride with lots of varied throttle fill up on the way home get the gallons off the pump times it by 128 mesure how much oil it takes to fill it up divide and thats your ratio most people say 40 to 1 i have ran my m7 with a 50 to 1 average since it was new she has 5000 mile and still runs like a stripped butt ape 40 to 1 is a good start. If there wasnt such a worry about the water pump shaft bearing i would have long ditched the oil pump. That my opinion and wht has worked for me i am sure there are 100 people that might disagree
