Over heating on a Frankenstien sled..

I took a 1998 SRX engine, Clutch etc and put it in a 1997 Mtn Max. When it was in the SRX we had no over heating issues with the sled idioling in the garage. Now even though everything seems like its good, when we run it right now it's indicating it's overheating.

All the coolant lines seem unkinked and good no leaks etc.

Any suggestions on how to analyze this? Should I put ice on the rails and hope that that cools the fluid? (See if this resolves the issue?) Not sure if I should take a compressor and blow out the lines. Can this sort of action blow any seals or gaskets?

Any suggestions would be great. spent 2 weeks on this project and now I can't figure out how to fix this last thing....

I would agree with bleeding. You should check coolant lines on both sides so you know it is flowing. I used a vaccume style to fill coolant that way I know they are ready without any air locks.

Lift rear of sled, open the screw on the tunnel. Add coolant to push out all the air, fill till you have coolant coming out. Reinstall screw.

Then raise the front of the sled higher than the rear, Remove the 10 mm bolt on t-stat housing add coolant to push out all the air, fill till you have coolant running out of the hole. Reinstall bolt.

Drop the sled back on the skis. check coolant level in reservoir.

Start sled and feel all heat exchangers to make sure they are getting warm, that will tell you have coolant circulating. May have to repeat to purge out all air.

Check the thermostat... Alot of Yami guys back in the day driller 2 - 1/8 holes in the thermostat... This helps circulate the coolent slowly to opertaing temp. Works great until your trying to diagnose a faulty thermostat.... All the lines get warm and feal OK but the motor is hot as hell....
