Outside Temp to warm to run in?

I was out in WY riding this weekend and it was 50’s on top of the mountain by mid afternoon. Coming back from “The Place” from lunch, my Pro kept stuttering and cutting out, couldn’t get it past 6000rpm. No temp light came on or engine lights, so I stopped and pulled my plugs, they looked fine.

Started going again and it started happening again, we pulled over and tried to see if any electrical or plugs lines were cut by chance…nothing we could see…

Another Pro was coming by and I stopped him to see if his was doing the same thing, he said it was the temperature outside and it was screwing with the fuel mapping.:face-icon-small-dis

Curious, I called my dealer Frontier Cycles in Laramie and they said the same thing.

The next day it was 10-15deg’s cooler and it ran great…

Has anyone else had this problem?

ran it yesterday at 60 degrees on mtn... ran great!

mine started acting up last week in the snowies too. The check engine light comes on and it retards the motor, if you flutter the throttle it comes out of it and runs great. It did it across the board, from putting at 5800 RPM to going wide open while climbing and sidehilling. Of the 3 PROs in my group, mine was the only one that did it. I changed the plugs and they didnt look too bad, PTO side was a bit more loaded up than Mag but neither looked lean or fouled. I'm gonna take it in this weekend and have them run it for codes. My first guess is going to be the pipe sensor was acting up. Also thought it might be bad gas, so I switched to the ethanol plug which didn't seem to help, if anything it did it more often. 620 Miles on a 2012 RMK Assault.

TSS causes that if you have any slack in the throttle cable line at all (changing temps will make it worse). Adjust out your slack and problem solved.

Have FUN!

We rode on June 4th last year and when we got back to truck temp read 70 degrees outside and mine did not miss a beat. Rode this last weekend and sled came down with a bog twice right after I started it and then disappeared, also did it a couple times ever so slight while riding. I did notice that my temp spiked very fast once and then fell off just as fast. Dropped it off to dealer on Monday and said he had rec'd 4 calls from others having a similar problem. Thinking it could be a bad temp sensor or TPS or both. Should find out shortly.

Had mine up on middle piney lake this weekend doing some ice fishing and it seemed to bog all day long nothing crazy but just didn't have the get up and go it normally has. I was hoping the weather was the issue, but i guess i'll have to test that theory for myself.

I called a dealer that was closest to my location and he said that 4 sleds have done the same thing this year. The shop has done everything you guys have posted on here and more, new fuel pumps, to new injectors, throttle cables, ect.

He said Polaris denies these issues and says if the computer doesn’t flash a code, there is nothing they can do.

Said all that, the sled is at the shop and a Polaris Rep. is coming to look at it firsthand.

Also, I did not buy the sled at the dealer I am taking it to. They were kind enough to help me as much as possible before next season and the warranty expires.

We had bog/idle/reverse issues from an inadequate ground at the left bumper bolt....took apart and cleaned it up and issues went away.
Also had a bog and idle issue from a taillight wire rubbed through.
And a bad TPS.
Polaris :face-icon-small-dis...LOL

I had that problem to a lesser extent when it was mid 40s in the big horns. When I started it up and tried to start moving it would bog, but once I got past that issue I ran good.

Mine worked great in wy and back in mn at 50 degrees. The only time it went into limp mode was during break in when I went full throttle for a long period of time. How many miles you have on yours???
