Outlaw Apex Turbo

I bought a used 06 Apex from Outlaw this Feb, has Boss seat, and different exhaust, I got some gen-2's for it and really like it. My problem is that a nice Tapex owner let me take his for a spin, and I haven't felt the same since.

Question is, is when I have Outlaw do the job and its all done, is the thing pretty much dialed in, cause I'm not a mechanic, and when its all done is there much extra maintnance.
Has anybody on here done this with them before. I know the are the bomb as far as turbo Yamaha's go. I just had a bad deal with a different shop that I basically gave a blank check to dial in a Crank Shop 1025 triple and the thing has not worked worth a hoot. I don't envision anything negative with the Outlaw guys.

Thanks.

I had mine turbod this year and you can put a turbo on get the clutching pretty close and go. But if you want it to run absolutely perfect its a hell of a lot better to understand how to do clutching and be able to tear it down on hill if you have a problem but that is only a problem when you run high boost. So if it were me after having one for a year I would turbo the **** out of it because they are ten times more fun than any other sled I have driven. Also I have heard that outlaw is dang good at what they do but I have never been there.

Yeah, I'm not looking for max boost, but I keep seeing this mcx 310 deal, I don't know how many lbs that is. The one I rode, and it was maybe 10 mins, up a hill a few times that the M1000 I was riding only went not even half way, the tapex, not even trying, cruized right up. And the thing sounded awesome. The guy said it was at 16lbs, I didn't even get into it much.

Just give Dustin a call at Outlaw, they can set you up for whatever you want. They are real good at responding to any questions or problems that you have. They have been doing it for a long time and know what they are doing. Set up right they can be pretty easy to keep going. I went with the small Boondocker turbo, good for about 260 hp at 12#s as I didn't want to get into shims, pistons, rods, etc. Lot's of fun, sometimes I wished I had more...that will come later. Compared to a stock Apex, it really puts a grin on your face.

I've talked to Dustin, its hard for me to keep track of all the boost levels with what gas and what compression and stuff. I'm gonna call him tomorrow and yack some more. Thanks.

I hear ya, if you've been running turbos for years it makes sense...to me it was like greek. Fortunatly Dustin will take the time to educate you. I ended up writing it all down and making:beer it into a cheat sheet for myself. Take your time to make a decision, then you'll get it right and be happy.:beer;:beer;:):)
