My brother in law is logging the area around Ore Creek as we speak and he said as of today aprox 6" of snow at the park, but if you get up to 4 way or even top sail there should be a pretty good shot of snow up there.

One of the guys that we ride with from time to time was up there today trying out his new pro so guys are riding. We are looking to head to the area next weekend but plan to ride badger as you unload 1000 feet higher than ore creek.

This was taken in the area today.

according to snotel their is 30"+ at surprise lakes.
i went to lone butte last sunday and their was a enough snow to ride up the road then.
lots of elk hunters though so lots of ruts on the roads.
should be good for road rides now

Is it legal to ride snowmobiles now at Orr Creek or do we have to wait till hunting season is closed. I tried calling the ranger station and they didn't really give me a clear answer.

Pretty icy around the snow park was the report I heard ... not my experience just what I was told, so take it with a grain of salt.

Kinda sounds like most of the state is that way right now. I'm thinking of heading up sunday to take the kid riding but we'll see.

When as the last time anyone rode here? im sure the rain didnt help, but snow levels are suppose to drop so i was thinkin of maybe takin a chance this weekend. anyone eles going up? or have any info?

Its was great! only about 6-8ish inches in the sno park, but got better the higher you went, snow actually felt pretty dry. about 12-18 inches of new maybe more. put on 50 miles today. gunna hit it again next weekend. will try to post pics as soon as possible

I was just looking at the report and it says no grooming due to lack of snow (dated 12/21). Sounds like it is getting better. Was planning to try it next weekend. Never been there. Is there much off trail riding available?

there is plenty of snow for trail riding, so im not sure what is with the grooming report, and there is little off trail riding, and you kinda have to know where your going, no major hills but somethin other then the trail. didnt hit it up much so not sure what its like.

Its a great riding area...we've been going there for years. Its all pretty much groomed road riding with many lakes to ride to. These are the same areas we camp and fish at in the summer so its kind of a special area to us.

As for the grooming report...dont even get me started! :face-icon-small-fro

Whoever "Northwest Snow Grooming LLC" is, they havent provided a single, up to date grooming report in the last couple of years that I can ever remember.

Ive politely complained to the US Forest Service offices, etc...all to no avail.

Ive given up and if we wanna ride up there we just go and dont worry about that grooming report because if theres one thing for certain you can count on...the report will not be up to date, or helpful in the least! :face-icon-small-fro

How's the access..??..

IS this area/snowpark short RV accessible ..??.. good tires & skill... chains if needed...

Wondering about the parking, turn around, plowing, hills, etc...

Thanks...

Nike

Lots of parking and turn around space, plowing ... I'll know sunday night when I get off the mountain but 90% of the time it's not to bad. There is a nice warming shelter with wood stove and an outhouse.

Would bring chains for sure just incase... mostly for the trip down. Road can get pretty polished by the end of the day.
