A 1900% increase on the taxation of beer?
This segmented tax increase is unfair & unAmerican!

We cannot stand by while the the powers that be use "divide & conquer" techniques
against us.

They are surgically disemboweling the rights of....drinkers, smokers, hunters (if this doesn't hit you yet, it eventually will soon).

If this behavior isn't curbed we will see......higher fuel taxes, taxes on "luxury"
items such as boats, bikes, sleds, planes, pick-ups, suvs, big screens, internet, cell phones, cable, sattellite, pets, coffee, all one at a time.

States, just like the federal government, can't live within their means.
they refuse to make the hard decisions.

As long as the social programs continue to expand and grow, taxes will do likewise.

no sales tax.so they came up with the sin tax.im sure all those things you listed are a sin to most of the law making wackos living here.

Don't get me wrong, I realize taxes are required to operate a government.
I have no problem with that.
What I do have a problem with is isolating a segment of people & levying a totally unfair tax upon them.

LMAO :) I ask myself that about everyone who lives west of Boise and North of Helena

We are a product of who we have elected in office!

WA is no better. Heard last week we are looking at a state tax for all, not just the upper end and a the legislature wants to increase sales tax .4%. Most places are at 9% now. Overall we pay about 40% of our income to taxes depending on what we buy. And most of us benefit very little. It's going to get ugle before it gets any better. Hmmmmm.....do I smell a tax revolt?

An Easy solution

Don't buy any....

Can you live without? that is what it is all about.

Us Canuckians have dealt with this forever....

We tax the people who can afford the poisoning luxuries, so we don't have to pay for their medical expenses later on in our other taxes.

TaxTaxTax//// get used to it. Free ride is over...LOL

Wrong.
In a liberal state the free ride is just beginning.
They need to stop TaxTaxTax, and start cutting off the free ride.

If you want to drink yourself to death, go for it. Just don't expect me to pay for it.

When the government convinces enough people that having money is evil, then it is ok to tax everyone to death. If the government would get the heck out of peoples lives, we would be much better off.
We already have class warfare in the US.
We need to remind people that the american dream is to succeed. The american dream is NOT to work hard so more people can sit on their azz and watch TV. The american dream is NOT to pay as much in taxes as the government can possibly squeeze out of you.

That was exactly my first thought when I read the title of the thread...it is gonna come back in full force!

lots of runs to the state line!

I heard about this when I visited Portland this winter. Really thought with the beer presence in OR that this would have failed.

Sin tax?? I can understand that alcohol abuse comes at a cost to society. But I think this "segmented" tax on just beer is actually sexist. Given that men consume far mor beer than women. I think if your going to single out beer with a tax, then you should tax tampons just the same. That is what is causing all the men to drink beer in the first place.
