Ordering a drop and roll kit today. Anything wrong with Holz?

I'm looking to order a drop and roll for my dragon today. I am leaning toward the Holz kit, it's a lot less involved than the fastrax kit, and $90 cheaper. I really don't want to play with suspension mounting stuff, being my main reason for the Holz kit. But I haven't heard much about their kit, anyone have one or know anything about them?

i have the Ftx on my G'fs sled and love it... will be putting one on my build this summer. havent been around the holtz one at all, but the fastrax one flat works! approach angle is real similar to a cat and the extra tunnel clearance is nice

Can't comment on holz but kit from fastrax for my 08 dragon was excellent. Highly recommend.

Man. I cant find anything on holz. I had ordered it a few hours ago. Just called and im a bit late to cancel. Was starting to think about the fastrax. But i guess im trying this wont do quite as much as fastrax but im sure It'll do enough for what i need. My main reason for it is to make some more room for a challenger extreme.

holz has always put out great products, had there kit on my edge chassis, I am debating on if I'm going to do that to my dragon. Have the camo extreme on it now and it flat out rips

Thanks. I'm hearing good things about this kit now. Glad I went with it! Mountainhorse gave me the idea to start a build thread once I get it, step by step installation with pics, I will be doing that as soon as I can order the track as well, and can get started. Might save you some hassle if and when you decide to do yours as well. First time for me dealing with a drop and roll, so it'll be a learning experience for me for sure.

I too have the holz on mine 09 assault, great product. Super easy to install, It all depends on what you are looking to accomplish with your drop and roll. I drop and rolled mine for extra clearance for the 2.5 camo. And I got that. However if comparing holz to fastrax, holz is a mild drop and doesn't impact the attach angle as much as fastrax. Both are great kits, all depends on what you are looking for!

Awesome thanks. My main concern is track clearance, better apporch angle would be nice, but that's not why I'm going with it. Thanks for the pic, do you have one from on the chain case side as well?

Here is the only other pic i have on my work comp! Not the best of but you can kinda see the welded drop sticking out. I could get a better one if you wish.

Getting a more shallow approach angle has plus's and minus's..

It will get up on top of the snow better... but other handling aspects will be changed as well... like side hilling..Ski Doo went from the shallower angle and steepend it up a bit... this, along with some shock work improved the sidehilling of the XP.

There is a trade off in every change involved in setting up the chassis.

The FTX D&R took all of this into accout as did Holz... two different philosophys... two great products.

hey, im debating getting a D&R kit for my polaris fusion 900, i like the sound of the holz kit but i can't seem to find it anywhere, i tried the holz site and it wasnt there. can anyone tell me a site or something where i can find one?

Holz discontinued it a while ago. I know mountain horse on here has one for sale. But I'm not sure if it will work on a fusion. Maybe send him a pm.
