I picked up a basically new '22 850 PRO from a gent who only rode it one time(38 miles). Took is out yesterday to put some break-in miles on it with a riding buddy. We rode the same distance. His Ski Doo showed 39.9 on his odo, his GPS showed 40.1 and my odometer showed 46.5 miles or 6.5 miles more than the distance we rode. I've never had a sled(over 25 owned) show that big of a discrepancy. Has anyone else had an issue with an optimistic odometer? Another Poo riding buddy spoke to his dealer and they thought that a reflash would not help and suggested I contact Polaris Cust. Service and see what they say. Appreciate any comments.

Yes. 22 Axys Khaos. Riding side by side with my buddy's 23 Gen 5, my odometer reads 6 to 8 more miles every ride, and I know I don't ride any further or harder than he does.

Series 8 track probably slipping and sliding all day long. :)
We did a total road ride; no climbing or tree riding. Followed the Doo all the way. Ran the flipper up and down with a some quick bursts every now and then. Rechecked track tension when I got home and no adjustment needed. Would have to say track slipping is a non issue. Curious to see what Polaris will tell me. 15-16% mileage discrepancy is BS, especially on the plus side.

Has the gearing been changed?

No gearing change. Stock sled with QD2 belt drive, 2.75 Series 8 track, standard gauge. Haven't done a thing to it other than putting fresh fuel in the tank.

My track spins a lot more than the sled moves forward. Maybe less so on a groomed trail, but still, +/- 10% seems within normal limits. Comparing to another sled could double the error. The easiest solution is not to worry about it. The second easiest is to use a speedo healer and make several calibration runs over a known distance. But even after that, it will remain inaccurate off-trail and questionable on-trail as snow conditions change.

Just got off the horn with Polaris Customer Service. Explained the problem to the CSR. He put me on hold and conversed with a Service Tech. Advised me to take the sled to the dealer and they will open an APC(a claim) and proceed from there. I will try to get another road ride on the sled for more break-in miles before I do that and see what the results are. Thanks much for the comments, folks.

My buddy and I both now have '22 axys 850 sleds with the series 8 track. Coming off of previous Axys 800 sleds and same riding areas we both think that the speedometer is off.
Both read higher mileage than past rides.

The stock setup is 10% out compared to my gps speed app. for 2024 Boost 165. (before extra added by spinning track) I am geared down on both my sleds now and had to build my own "in-line" speed sensor compensators.

I stopped by my local dealer to get the sled ownership transferred into my name with Polaris. Discussed the odometer issue with the owner and they opened up a claim with Polaris. Dropping the sled off next Thursday so they can look into the problem and see what Polaris recommends. Whatever they end up doing, I most likely won't know if the issue has been corrected until I ride the sled next season. At least the issue will be documented from my end, as warranty ends Nov. 30, 2024.

As far as I know Polaris has discontinued the option of adjusting the odometer in Digital Wrench since they went to the Quickdrive technology. They used to have the option with the chaincase models as they could have gear changes. It would be nice to be able to buy different brake discs with different number of pickup holes drilled.

Yes but can you order it with the proper connector for your speed sensor or do you have to start cutting wires? Also I learned the hard way that the 24 Boost does not have enough current available to run my speed sensor compensator so it needs an external power source. The 23 NA Polaris had more than enough current from the speed sensor power wire. They have changed the power center to PWM on the Boost. If you are buying something like this do your homework first.

No wires to cut - you buy the V4 along with the Polaris snowmobile wiring kit and install at the connection right above the brake rotor. An honest 5 minute install, then another 5 minutes to go to their website to get the correction number and program it. Very, very easy.

Nice. Watch out for the low current design on the Boost. It is enough to run our Phantom Teth-Air without a problem but was not enough to also run a speed compensator.

Took the sled into the dealer yesterday. Service Mgr. called Polaris and they had him reset the ECM from the Quick Drive 2 specs back to the Quick Drive specs. Won't know if that clears things up until I ride it next season. If that doesn't fix things, then they will look at the speed sensor or possibly replacing the ECM. Everyone is in agreement that a 15-16% variance(on the plus side) is unacceptable. If it was on the minus side, I would keep my mouth shut. So I'll wait till next Winter and go from there. Thanks again for your comments.
