As said.........I decided to go with the Coaxsher RP-1 Scout. I am very happy with the fit and finish of this product. It came out to $28 and change with shipping. It fits very comfortably and WILL fit over a tek vest. The rino fits perfectly and is easily accessible. The Tracker beacon fits snuggly and fits ok. I wish there was a bit more room in there, but the Pieps, or ortovox or some of the thinner beacons will fit perfectly.
I am trying to decide whether or not to take off the plastic D-rings from the beacon.....i have left them on for now.
2 altercations I will need to make is extending the velcro strap over the beacon about 2 inches just to my liking. I will also need to put a short tether strap from one of the beacons D-rings to the pack to keep it attached securely.
I can also fit my 9mm very comfortably in there should I choose to want to carry. All in all for the price I think it is a fantastic product to keep the radio/gps and beacon comfortable and secure on your person at all time while riding. Also fits very well with a backpack on. :D

Harness was purchased from www.campman.com that is local in SLC.:)

Thanks for the follow up. Looks great.

So my XD40 will fit just fine then.:face-icon-small-hap
Get the feeling I may have to put Hector's M7 down for good this year. Can't let that Cat limp all yr. again. LMAO

Can I buy and pick it up local to save on shipping or are they mail order only?

I figure I may have a few small critters to put down to go in the muff pot when the sausages run out.....;) LMAO

Anyway not sure on the local thing. You may just have to hit their website and give em' a call. The package had a SLC address on it, so I assume they have it local. Shipping was only $2.50 of the price USPS.

Beacon on the outside!

Just talking with my bro and he brings up a good point of my beacon being secured on the outside of my jacket?

Should I give up trying to use it for my beacon too and just wear it with the normal harness underneath??

Thoughts?

I've always heard that the radio and Beacon should not be side by side and a cell phone should be turned off.
I personally like having both on my body. Hate to lose my sled and radio.
Not sure what to tell you on that one.

I can wear beacon underneath like normal and it is situated down and to the side. I can wear radio in that harness that is outside and up from the beacon. BCA calls for radio equipment to be 2" away from beacon in transmit. Off or more than 6" while locating.

Either way it is still a fantastic harness for the radio while 4 wheeling, hiking, camping, hunting, sledding, etc.

Fixed!!!:face-icon-small-hap:beer;

whatever you decide to buy, you definetly want you beacon under you coat. i have heard of instances where in an avalanche outside pouches have been ripped right off the person. and without a beacon your chances are obviously slim to none. just a thought. LETS STAY ALIVE THIS YEAR EVERYONE!!!!:D

Oh the memories.....................

And you had to ride your sons Green sled because????
Trialride2-7-09015.jpg

Even on the f7 with a 136x13 track, it got it done. over 5,000 miles and a dragon with too much brakes that stops in front of you, something had to give;) by then game was over~~~ !!!:D LOL!!! (No recalls on m7) :face-icon-small-hap

Good thing cuz you would never get to ride.

And then there are the times you have to ride a reliable borrowed sled. Well kinda ride it.
